Wasps
« on: May 02, 2018, 05:43:13 pm »
Did you ever get stung by a wasp  ???  I have a lot of wasps hanging out around my deck ..... I don't even like sitting out there because they are always buzzing around.  Last year they started getting in our bathroom  through a loose vent.
Fortunately it was the end of summer so they weren't very strong.  There were dozens .... I told the landlord ....but I never heard back so I tightened the vent myself.  Hope it works.  :) :) :) :)

Never been stung but have the nest outside by our deck each summer.  We purchased a hornet and wasp spray that worked well.  I know that Menards carries it

Get stung probably once or twice a year they are so bad here.  Hurts like the dickens.  Glad there aren't more bees around us though, my son is deathly allergic to bee stings

Your landlord should have taken care of that, ask about pest spraying the next time you pay your rent. I hope you don't have many more problems.

I knocked down 2 hives in the making yesterday; one above my front door and one to the far side of it.  Definitely not looking forward to seeing those this season but it comes with the territory (summer)  :rainbow:

We don't have too many wasps, but there must be a nest in the crawl space "upstairs." Once=in-a-while, one will drop down through the light fixture and go to the door (they like light). I let them out the door. If they don't want to go, then i'll use Raid.

Our problem is carpenter bees and sine kind of hornet. They are destroying the oune siding by drilling holes and living in there and the porch 2x4s. They aren't easy to kill, either. Insect Spray doesn't work on them, but gas does. it melts their wings and burns them. Hate using it but a tennis racket just doesn't do it justice either!

Wasps a nasty! The worst ones I've come across, are the ones in Arkansas. Their about 1 1/2 inches long and have a very bad bite and sting. They will even chase you. I do not live there anymore thank God.

No never been stung, but I keep the spray handy and when I see them hovering they get a good soaking.

That's the one thing I hate about spring and summer is wasp and bees. Yes, I was stung once by a wasp. I'm a grown woman and I cried it hurt so badly.

We have several wasp nests on our deck every summer.  But they don't bother us.  And we definitely don't bother them.
