Wasps
« on: May 15, 2020, 08:51:40 am »
We have a lot of wasps on our back deck so yesterday I made a wasp trap.  I made it out of a mason jar and the inverted top of a soda bottle.  I read that in spring time to bait it with a small bit of meat because the wasps are laying their eggs and looking for protein.  But bait them with sugar water, soda or something sweet in late summer to early fall..
I hope it works....a few years ago they started getting into our bathroom.  :o

Yikes! I read about wasps to learn whether there's anything redeeming about them or if they're just jerks. Apparently they do a little pollinating and also eat some insect pests. As long as they keep caterpillars out of my garden I'll leave them alone... but if they come in the house, all bets are off!
