I have cable with all the pay channels....  & still watch mostly netflix off a firestick.

Netflix is the way to go.... get a roku or a firestick or if you have a smartTV then you can just stream directly.

I would love to cut the cable cord, but the fam watches it.

When the nest is empty, the cord will be cut! :)

netflix or hulu if you can take the commercials for the cheaper price or pay more but if you want something free try yesmovies or projecttv
Yes movies is a great site with hd downloads, some of these sites are no movies with all their deceptions     "sign up for free but give your credit card info"

They do not sell analog antennas.  If you buy them that lay on the top of the tv (which are worthless) they are digital. Just hook it to the back of the tv.

I have the antenna (the old fashioned ones) and have the tv hooked to it and it is a digital tv (all they sell now) so you just scan for channels and you get what you get.  Depends on where you live.  The middle of NYC you may get 60 channels.  I get around 30 I think.  I know it is up in the 20' for sure.

If you still have one of the older than dirt tvs that is analog then you have to have a digital converter box.

Thinking of cutting the cord, but still a few shows I would miss.

I live alone, so it is background noise.

Cables expensive...pay $200 a month for TV/Phone/Internet bundle... :o :o :o

Wish I could live off the grid in a forest or out in the desert with a satellite dish or something...

I am sick of cable. I turned in my converter box for my bed room back in the winter. If my family did not what it, I would not have cable at all

Antenna, buy or rent DVDs, or subscribe to Netflix, Hulu, or Directv Now would be your best bet.

My boyfriend and I have Netflix and tried Hulu for the one month free trial. Our smart TV doesn't have Hulu available on it and it would always freeze on our Wii. Now that we have a PlayStation and would be able to watch it on a TV we are interested in trying it again. We were given a digital TV converter and we got antennas. Where we lived before we only got PBS, now we get the ION channel which has my favorite shows such as Blue Bloods, Criminal Minds and Law and Order SVU. You can also watch many different shows by looking them up on YouTube such as Kitchen Nightmares  or Bob's Burgers.

I have an antenna that I can pick up several stations on.  At least I get ABC, NBC, CBS and FOX.  Most of what I watch is on these stations.  I also have a firestick and Direct TV Now.

We are looking into alternatives right now as cable is way to expensive and it just seems to continue to go up; a friend told me about Roku so will take a look at that and some others.
