I dye eggs with my little grandkids and we sometimes fix a meal. I used to go to sunrise service but my health does not let me get out much anymore.

Christmas is the celebration of Christ's birth. Easter celebrates His Resurrection. I've never heard the reverse.

And of course I'll be celebrating it. The holiest day of the year!

Right on, JediJohnie. He is risen!
Hopefully so has the dough Paints has been using for her bread baking too.

We go to church on Maundy Thursday (the last supper of Christ and his apostles) We go to church on Good Friday (Christ's crucifixion)  And we go to church on Easter Sunday (Christ rises from the dead)
We also share a meal with our families on Saturday and Sunday.  I buy the kids some easter eggs too.

Yes, we always celebrate.  We make easter candy eggs, dye eggs and have a great family dinner.   The only Sunday of the year that I go to a sunrise service.

I think Easter is the ONLY Sunday that any church HAS a Sun Rise Service. lol

We usually don't but I would like to start. Especially since we have our son now. It will be his first Easter and it would be nice to start a tradition.

When you remember a loved one that has passed away do you refer to it as a tradition?

Jesus was about to go thru an agonizing death hrs after he dismissed Judas. He told the other 11 to REMEMBER this.He willingly did this for his father and the human race. That is an act of love that cant be denied.

This Fri marks the anniversary of that and will be remembered by over 20 million people at a Kingdom Hall near you.

The bible reads Jesus was troubled right before what he had to go thru that drops of sweat came off of him as if it was drops of blood.

I have my own theory of that.I liken it to a brave fireman that gives up his life to save another.Do we remember the survivor 20 yrs later or do we never forget the love and courage that fireman showed? As Jesus said the greatest act of love one can give is their life for someone else. And he did it for the entire human race and the TRUE God Jehovah.
