Good Friday
« on: April 19, 2019, 09:37:11 am »
Do you do anything for Good Friday? I stay silent from 12:00n-3:00pm (the Three Hours) to respect whatever Jesus suffered as He was crucified.

Worldwide ALL the kingdom halls are honoring the command Jesus gave after he dismissed Judas. To keep remembering this day/night that he was about to be executed as an innocent man.A Memorial.

Today is Passover and it corresponds to Nisan 14<Jewish calendar>when Gods angel spared the sons of the Israelites and punished the Egyptians. How appropriate Jesus lays down his life for his father and mankind.

It was a great Friday because it was absolutely gorgeous in Colorado! Weather temperatures in the mid-seventies, bright and sunny. I embraced the weather by only working ten hours at my day time job and taking the night off from my second job (the project was not paying enough to stay cooped up in the house during great weather). My wife, and I, took the dogs out for a five mile walk and then settled back in our Adriondacks with a nice bottle of Pinot Noir and enjoed the sun set over the Rocky Mountains as we discussed the previous week's happenings.  Today looks as if it will be a Good Saturday as it will be warm but overcast all day. Both of my kids are coming in (with there girl/boy friends), from college, and we are having a big dinner. Two weeks till we start moving them home for the summer which will make for a Great Summer.

I was referring to the last Friday before Easter. This discussion isn’t supposed to be about weather.

I use to not eat any meat on Good Friday. However I have not been following my religion lately. Not quite sure why. However, I have started reading the Bible and plan to get back to going to church.

Went to a young man's  birthday party. well young to me. He is  the youngest one  who volunteers  at the  ministry and a very hard worker.  Most of the  crew was there to wish him a Happy Birthday.  It was potluck  so  they didn't have to do much  work. Enjoyed .
then we all  jumped in and help clean.

Please, keep this discussion about doing anything related to Good Friday, not just general plans!

Why should you be surprised? What do rabbits, eggs and candy have to do with Jesus resurrection?

Math 15:14 Then he also told them an illustration: “A blind man cannot guide a blind man, can he? Both will fall into a pit,* will they not?

Eggs mean new life (which is what a resurrection is supposed to be). The Easter Bunny goes back to some German tradition. Candy is common for holidays and seasons. If you want to know more, go to an online encyclopedia.
