An explanation would have been nice, but interesting.

It's a JOKE, every day is either greg OR ian

I think Greg (or Ian - depending on whether their DAY is a celebration or a chore) gets shafted by having Greg getting picked two days in a row every single week - if you look at the Sunday to Monday rollover.  Maybe it can run on a two week cycle just to make it fair?
 

Actually it runs on an infinite cycle, so it balances out automatically.

Tuesday = ian
Wednesday = greg
Thursday = ian
Friday = greg
Saturday = ian
Sunday = greg

I'm proud to say I "got it" right away. Not always the case with me. Thanks for a good laugh.
