Can you handle very hot peppers / spicy food?
« on: June 19, 2019, 10:25:45 am »
I can't handle very hot peppers at all, but my brother in law can practically eat fire and shrug unimpressed. I'm going to try to grow some scotch bonnets and see if that gets him, lol. What is the hottest pepper or food you've had?

Funny how I just saw this post. I cannot tolerate any spicy foods. I just ate some barbecue chips my granddaughter gave me and they were kind of spicy. So not only is my tongue bothered by it but my stomach does not like it either. I need to stick to bland foods.

I can to a point,  teensy bit of scotch bonnet I can handle, but anything beyond then no I cant. A friend gave me some seeds to grow those reapers, I just laughed and said NO WAY!

I love spicy food. I've always had a high tolerance ever since I was a kid. I recently tried some super hot wings made with ghost peppers and basically shrugged them off.

Depends. I don't like hot peppers.  I do like some spicy foods to a point but any more I am not real fond of it.

I don't think you are suppose to drink water.  Somebody told me a long time ago if you eat a really hot pepper that it is better to drink milk.  That it will stop the burning.

I don't see the point in eating peppers so hot they burn your mouth or throat and then your stomach and I assume it burns coming out too.  What is the point?  It ain't like they taste that good. haha

There was a time I  could handle the hot and spicy foods, but now   I am having to give a lot of things up I used to eat.  It seems like ever since I had my gall bladder out, I am finding more things  that I can't eat that I loved before.  I still cook  with some of the peppers but now they are medium and mild. It is good just not the same punch as  the hot ones.

I do not like spicy foods.  I like flavorful food, but not anything that has a bite when I eat it or that comes back to "bite" me later.
