It's unfortunate you don't care for bananas as they are delicious & a really cheap fruit to purchase... sounds like maybe you ate one that wasn't ripe enough -- those are quite bitter.   There is an almond milk out there that is flavored with bananas, it is so delicious... you are missing out on a really good thing.

I can't eat a lot of fresh fruit. IT makes my throat and mouth super itchy.

Spinach has more potassium anyway. Try that.

Good to eat & heathy to but not when its mosquito season. Eating bananas increases the chances of attracting them during that time so its a no go for me

You may have some kind of banana digestive issue or some form of allergy on them.

My doctor wants me to eat one a day but I usually get in maybe three a week.  I inspect them and remove any blemishes and eat them before they get really soft.

I like bananas primarily on cereal.  Also, they can't be overripe and mushy.  I can't stand them once they are very soft and mushy.  I have had so many people tell me to keep them and make banana bread.  I find this rather funny as I would be baking and eating banana bread all the time if that was the case.  I either cut them in half and put them at the back of my yard for animals or simple throw them out.

It does make sense as situations can change our tastes.  I like banana's a lot but for me a little goes a long way.  I eat a very small one with peanut butter for breakfast or in oatmeal or cereal I might only use 1/2 of one. Occasionally I cut one up on an ice cream sundae. I believe strawberries and some other foods are rich in potassium also.

I totally understand how you feel about bananas. I had a similar thing happen to me with fish when I was a child. But now that I am an adult, I find that I am gradually beginning to like some fish so long as it is prepared in very specific ways that I can tolerate like fish and chips or tuna salad.

Banana bread is a good choice. It's good for you!
Freeze loaves if you make too many, or give some to friends.

You can also use the mushy bananas in smoothies. I do it all the time. It adds wonderful sweetness.

I eat them about every day to every other day and try to get the tiniest ones possible.  If I can get only large ones then I cut them in half.  I think the thing to remember is other foods have potassium also and I think that can cause a problemif you eat too much potassium rich food in one day because I think that may have happened to me before.
How do you keep the exposed end from turning brown and nasty? I tried folding the peel back over it, but it doesn't always work.

Put aluminum foil over it.  If the very end turns brown just slice the end off.

I love bananas but I have a grandson who is allergic.  I thought that was weird since it is one of the things they have you start babies on.

How is he allergic?  Like what happens?  I was at a day care once and this kid had always ate bananas.  Then one day right after he ate them he broke out.  His mouth and face and every where the banana had touched.  He was young so he had it on his hands and a couple places on his arms also broke out.  The idiots in charge dismissed it.  They called his parents but other than that said we will watch him.  Personally I think if a kid is having a reaction to a food you should be more proactive. But that is just me.  His mother did not seem to care at all.  She was just like oh well.  He will be fine.  And if not I got 6 more so all is good.
