Spoiling my Cat
« on: May 13, 2020, 07:53:57 pm »
I love my cat and every time when I see something he needs or would want, I want to buy it. Temptations treats, cat food, cat food mat, cat water fountain. Didn't get the water fountain yet but plan to soon. :cat:  :cat:  :in-love:

We aren't at that level yet where we make a lot of impulse purchases for them, but our older cat will VOCALLY BEG for water from the refrigerator filter/dispenser when she sees us getting it for ourselves. The floor dish can be fresh and cold and just dispensed from the sink tap, but she insists on drinking from a regular human drinking glass and from the fridge dispenser.

The sound of the water dispenser is more powerful at getting her attention that shaking or opening a bag of treats!

Oh my gosh, that’s what pets are for.  I always adopt ‘unwanted/hard to adopt’ pets.  I have 5 dogs, and many cats.  Once they enter my house they get to be spoiled rotten!  Thank you for spoiling your fur babies 🐱🐶

My cat is a senior cat now so I don't buy her toys or treats anymore.  I use to buy her toys to play with and I would play with her for a long time.

Yes, I would terribly spoil my little Tinker if I could, but my husband makes sure I don't break the bank with toys, etc. He gets plenty, though! I got a water fountain for him a couple of years ago, but I found I could not keep it clean (to my liking) unless I washed it thoroughly a couple of times a day. Plus, he'd rather drink from the tap than the fountain, LOL! I ended up cleaning and drying it and storing it up in the closet.  :cat: :peace:

Thank you so much linderlizzie.  Everyone wants the cute, healthy, young ones, but the older, needy pets need you and give so much back.  I’m the lucky one to have the great pets.

I am the same way with my dogs. My oldest (at a little over ten years) has a short time to live. Her oncologist indicated that the chemotherapy was not doing anything, about two weeks ago so we discontinued the chemotherapy. She is still on benadryl and steroids but has begun to slow down. She does not want to eat her dog food (which was a high point of the day for her) so I have begun preparing better meals with chicken, pork, steak, eggs, rice and vegetables. Our nine month old gets treats every time he performs tasks but my old girl gets treats just for making it to the corner. Since the virus changed our ways, I have been walking the dogs two to three times a day. We pick up bones for the dogs on a weekly basis. We received notice that our next dog was born two days ago which will have her moving in in about eight weeks. Hoping my old gal can hang on that long.

I have been a cat sitter for my friend many times. She has a cat fountain that they seem to love. She recently bought them a new tower.

You are a wonderful pet owner, OP. If your cat could speak, you would probably hear a lot of praise from him/her ad nauseum, LOL. I am the same way with my dog to the extent where I refer to myself as a "dog mom". In all honestly, I perceive my dog (male German Shepherd) as my fur baby. :)

I don't really spoil my cat with anything. She doesn't eat cat treats or even human food. She has a few toys and that's it. However, I made the terrible mistake of buying canned food to see if it would be easier on her stomach than dry kibble. Apparently, I picked the right one, because she is OBSESSED with it. I tried other brands and flavors when I couldn't find the one she likes in stores, and she wouldn't touch them. Now she won't shut up when it's near breakfast or dinner time until I feed her. Meow meow MEOOOOOOW for hours if I let her. I created a monster. Lol!
