Lol every year someone has a new reason for why the world is coming to an end. Why can't the Mayan calender have an end to it, without the world coming to and end? My calender ends at the end of this year...doesn't mean the world is coming to an end. It just means that I need to buy a new calender. Any way if the Mayan's could predict the end of the world with a calender, how come they couldn't predict the end of themselves?

Because the calender ended on december 2012 means that the world is over. Maybe the Mayans didn't make a big enough circle

No no one knows what is going to happen in the future. Earth could live another 10000 years or it could be destroyed tomorrow. Either way, god has that in his hands and there is no man that can convince him otherwise

Most of you here have the right idea.  The Mayan calendar just ends.  They ran out of room, or maybe the year they happened to be working on at the time of their disappearance was 2012.  Don't you think they would have accompanied it with some sort of doom and gloom text and proficies?  Like the best thing they could do is just stop making a calendar?  Or maybe the rest of another calendar is out there somewhere, or buried, or was destroyed and it now dust in the wind.  Who knows.  There are tons (and have been in the past) of people who try to say they know when the world will end, or when humanity will end.  And those dates have come and gone so it is hard to believe that this one is supposed to be correct.  The world has been around for quite some time. I don't think it is ready to just end or whatever.  There are other movies out there with like these theories of things going wrong and crazy end of the world stuff starts happening.  Like Day After Tomorrow, or whatever, there's Core, and Armaggedon, and tons of others.  Just sounds like they wanted to make an end of the world movie, but they wanted it to be more hyped up than movies of the same genre in the past, so they started hyping it up about the Mayan calendar and all of this other stuff and now it has everyone riled up and so more people will see the movie and buy the dvd after.  And they just happened to choose 2012 because of the Mayan calendar and they want people to still be able to want to buy their merchandise and movies before they go crazy and hide in their bunkers. lol

Scientists are fairly convinced it will pass on the first round.  They're concerned that it may be back in, I believe 2036, and that it will collide then.  It's still a long shot, their calculations could be off, and plenty of things happen in a 27 year span.

lol @ the comparison between Obama and Hitler...I think you missed the part where Hitler was threatening to take over Europe and uh...you know, slaughter millions and millions of people he viewed as imperfect -.-  Think a bit please.
