I got my flu shot. I got my shingles shot. I'll get the vaccine.  There are many things I will take a stand against, but a vaccine isn't one of them.

It is not about taking a stand.  I have never had a flu shot and never had the flu.  Last year most of the people I know who got the flu shot got the flu as well.  I don't care who goes and gets it.  I won't be one of them.

Heck yeah, I'd get it for $1500! I need to pay off some debt. Unless... Biden is really going to forgive my student loans. Then I'll pass on the vax.

Why should he forgive student loans?  Are the rest of us who paid for our college going to get reimbursed?  What about my credit card debt?  Are they going to just forgive that?  Anybody that will go get it for $1500 will go get it anyway.

Biden said something about issuing an executive order to cancel $50k in student loans. I'm not holding my breath, but it sure would be nice. I have $50k in loans from a college that is now permanently closed due to misuse of funds. A different local college took over the program that I was in, and it's less than half the cost now. So yeah, I feel a bit cheated.

I know what he said. My point is why should people who have student loan debt and are not paying it back just have it forgiven?  Are you also going to reimburse everyone else who paid their loans?  Or who paid for it without loans?  What about my credit card debt? Are they just going to forgive that?  Or my mortgage payment? I want that forgiven. He has said a lot of things I don't think will ever happen.  He has actually already reneged on several things he touted when he was running. I am not sure he will even go in.

Personally, no.  But I'm thankful to the people that are testing it.

I just read something about a proposal to pay people $1500 to get the coronavirus vaccine...would you do it?

I'd like for this to remain a friendly community; there is enough ugliness in the world already :)

Just curious....what are people concerned about with the vaccine? There's no way to get the virus from the vaccine - the only negatives are the side effects...

Why are you concerned with people who are not going to take it? If you take it you are safe. LOL I don't take the flu shot either.  Have you actually read the side effects?  Have you seen on the news where the side effects for a couple have been severe paralysis and the person is now laying in a bed and cannot even move their body?  And the side effects are basically the same as having cov and the vaccine DOES contain cov.  I don't think they will have any problems getting enough people to take it to achieve their "herd immunity" lol.  Depends on which pole you listen to.

That's a good point; come to think of it, if it's required to travel I think a lot more people will be willing to take it.  I just hope that it doesn't become a requirement, at least until after thorough testing.

Not a good idea, however if next year the only way we can go on vacation in Canada, then I will consider it. I already have plane tickets and have put our trip off for a year already.

I see your point.  One of my concerns, however, is that much like the flu shot some counterproductive side effects would come with the vaccine.  But, I do see your point.

I got my flu shot. I got my shingles shot. I'll get the vaccine.  There are many things I will take a stand against, but a vaccine isn't one of them.

For it to be a clinical trial of such high importance I'd think they would offer more incentives.

Nope I don't need the money that bad.

Well, you can file for bankruptcy if you want all your debt canceled, except your student loans. Go for it.

Although Trump has never filed for personal bankruptcy, hotels and casino businesses of his have declared bankruptcy six times between 1991 and 2009 due to its inability to meet required payments and to re-negotiate debt with banks, owners of stock and bonds and various small businesses (unsecured creditors).

CG may take U up on that IG.She admires the clown.

He cant even bow out gracefully. His demeanor will bury him even furthur. The grip he has on so many amazes me how he fooled so many for so long.Even Bernie Madoff showed humility.Oh sure,it took jail time and his son committing suicide.Ya wonder what is in store for Trump down the rd.It cant be good if he doesnt wake up.

I am not a dead beat. I pay what I owe. The point is why should one group get all their debt cancelled and the other not.  I honestly don't see it happening. Too many people just looking for a handout.

Student loan debt has surpassed all other debts, including mortgages and credit cards. It's an issue, because the cost of college is rising exponentially while salaries are stagnant. How do you pay your student loan payment when your paycheck doesn't cover it? I couldn't work as a vet tech for years, because I didn't make enough money to pay my loan payment.
