Debate & Discuss / Re: facebook wants bank info

I'm more than happy to share that information with Mark Zuckerberg if he compensates me for it (and if he shares his personal bank information with everyone on Facebook).

Debate & Discuss / Re: Vertigo??
« on: August 22, 2018, 10:48:54 am »Message ID: 1233814
My wife had a pretty bad/ongoing issue with vertigo several years ago. She went to the doctor for it and they couldn't find any specific cause. I think what ultimately made it go away was a combination of chiropractic adjustments and deep tissue massage.

Was it Secret that advertised being "strong enough for a man, but made for a woman"?

Without meaning to sound insensitive, what size are you talking about?

While inconvenient and frustrating for sure, I'm having a hard time wrapping my head around the argument that it is somehow discriminatory. I know that it is comparing apples to oranges, but I cannot tell you how many times I have found a particular shirt or pair of pants that I really liked, but it turned out that the store didn't have it in the size that I needed...  In those cases I was just out of luck.

I hope that your friend finds/found something suitable. But if not, aren't there plus size stores or catalogs that she can order from?

Uhm I don't type in all caps. I do use SOME caps from time to time.  I have never posted and entire post in all caps.

Exactly! I know that this is better addressed in a support ticket, but I always seem to get this warning (and it prohibits me from posting) whenever I have just a couple of words in all caps - like the quote in your recent post. It is a glitch of some sort obviously - especially when you factor in that it wasn't me who used any caps and it still prohibits my post after I've deleted the caps in an edit...

But have fun!

Countrygirl,

How do you "get away with" writing in all caps??  Not a dig on you, but a legitimate question.  I know you have no control over it, so I am not actually looking for an answer.

The FC forum never allows me to write anything in all caps, so I have to use bold or italics when I am trying to emphasize something on here. But when I tried to do a quote reply to your comment above (and even deleted out your phrasing in all caps - it still prohibited me from posting!!!

I've run into that  issue several times where the caps were not even mine and I deleted them anyway - but the forum still somehow thinks that my post has bad caps in it.  It has happened many times and gets pretty frustrating because all of the offensive caps have been deleted!!!!!  (see below)

Anyway - what app do you use to track your progress toward $600 that you referred to above?

I don't have a cash-out of $50 each month, so I don't reach the threshold for the 1099.

You do not need a cash out of $50 a month.  You can cash out at $25.  I have months where I have barely over $25 and I have months where I have closer to $100.  I have never had over $600 on this site.

I think what this person  is saying is that you would need to average $50 a month to hit the $600 for the year - so in order to receive a 1099, you would have to basically earn $50 a month consistently.

Off-Topic / Re: Late Night Shows
« on: August 14, 2018, 09:46:55 am »Message ID: 1232783

I must be showing my age too ... I thought Johnny Carson was definitely the funniest.  I do like the current ones but some are getting just a bit too political.  All late night hosts have always poked at the political system over the years but when they focus most of their show on it ... it stops being entertaining.

Rather than rewrite the same basic thoughts, I'll just quote the wise and truthful dwggs and say "ditto". An occasional political joke in a monologue (like Carson or David Letterman used to do) is funny. But pushing a specific agenda like so many of them do today, I haven't watched late night talk shows in probably ten years. I will catch bits online from time to time, but as far as watching them regularly or having a favorite = nope.

I am not a big fan of mustard. Sometimes I will eat it on a burger, but not very often. I do not like mustard on my hot dogs. I do enjoy mustard based potato salad, but not if the mustard flavor is overpowering.

Off-Topic / Re: Marijuana moms

Personally I believe it is a bad idea. For those who say, but it's not illegal in my state/area; I say - just because something isn't illegal, that doesn't make it right. What if an emergency with her kids happens when mom is high? Sure she can call 9-1-1, but if her high hinders her from giving assistance to her kids and something bad results, she should be in a heap of trouble. (I say should but unfortunately that is not always the way it works out)...

Different drug, but a few years ago in late December in this area a mom who had been drinking and taking cocaine got into a fight with her boyfriend. She decided to leave but first had a friend who had also been drinking come over. This was at her parents' house who lived very close to a riverbank.  Mom puts her two kids into her friend's car because she had a car seat. After the kids were strapped in, mom for whatever reason decides that she is going to drive herself separately in her own car. Drunk friend then backs out of the driveway, across the dirt road, and over the retaining wall into the river.

Long story short, drunk friend is able to get out of the car, seven year old daughter is able to be rescued; four year old son strapped into a car seat drowns.

Drunk friend is now in prison for a very long time. Somehow, mom is not (and blames drunk friend for her son's death). But it was her stupida$$ decision to put her own kids into the care of a drunk driver. Had she not been impaired herself, she might have had a clue that the friend was in no condition to drive either. The two kids were 100% innocent victims in all of this and did not deserve to be children of this selfish idiotic imbecile.

Some would say that my story doesn't apply to the topic at hand because this mom was high on cocaine rather than marijuana. So in anticipation of that I ask if there is really a difference.  Impaired is impaired regardless of the severity or source.

I had to look it up as well to see what it was about. I'll go in another direction - I saw several 'before and after' photos where I could barely (if at all) notice much more than the slightest of slight differences between the two photos.  If that is what they are putting out there to show the It Works products working, I am inclined to believe that it does what they claim (or at least that the photos are real and legitimate).

So my first impression is that it probably does work and the results are so minuscule that you really cannot tell much of a difference at all - making it a waste of money in my opinion...

Yeah - like others have said, I got my June bonus a while ago and am just waiting for July. I thought a few minutes ago that I got that as I had an unexpected extra $3 in my account balance - but upon further investigation I discovered that I had a new referral ($1) who completed their first offer ($2) = an extra $3.   W00t!

If you still have an outstanding June forum bonus, you might want to submit a support ticket.

Cheap and no food dye + fun for kids to eat = popcorn in my book. But with a 2-4 age range I imagine that could also be a choking hazard. (Although at that age pretty much anything food wise could have that potential). Unbuttered and unsalted microwave varieties (assuming you have access to a microwave oven) are still fun to eat with less mess.

I actually welcome the rain! (Not for those in flooding conditions, of course). It has cooled things off around here a bit. Sometimes the rain brings hot and muggy humidity with it, but the rain we've been having has been very nice. We had a heavy thunderstorm yesterday morning around 4:00 and it was almost cold outside at 5:00 when I took a morning stroll. It was awesome!
