Reebok Easy Tones or Sketchers Shape Ups....
« on: December 03, 2009, 07:35:14 pm »
So I work in a shoe store and there is all this hype about these shoes.  The Shape Ups are supposed to teach your body how to walk the way you are supposed to (heel to toe motion) which is supposed to tone your abs and strengthen your back etc. (people keep coming into my store and buying second pairs because they love them)   And the Easy Tones are supposed to basically put you off balance a little bit so you use your butt muscles 28% more and your calf and thigh muscles 11% more.  My question is can a shoe actually do all that?  Or do I need to buy them to find out, lol?  Actually I really want to get the Reebok ones mainly because I want to try one of the two and I have extremely large feet and the Sketchers just don't fit, lol.  So what does everyone think is it a waste of money?

I have a hard time believing a shoe can do that so yeah I think it's a waste of money.

I am waiting for the sneakers that I have now to wear out, then I am going to buy Reebok Easy Tones.  I think they look better than the Sketchers.  I am not really sure they work but it is worth a try.  I do alot of walking atleast 5 days a week so it might be hard to tell if they work or not.  I am sure they do. ;D

i think this is a good principle, I wonder what a podiatrist would say about them?

I know that when I wear high heels I can always feel that i am working my calf muscles differently when I walk in them -- this is truly possible that these shoes can help improve fitness/muscle toning, etc.  couple that with healthy eating and regular exercise and you'd be off to a great healthy lifestyle with a little toning and weight loss thrown in.  :)
