Why is it everybody lies in this life?

I think it's cause people think about short-term gratification too much. If they thought about the long term more often, we probably wouldn't lie as much.

some people lie because they are unable to face the inner truth of themselves. so if a person is unhappy with themselves, their life, their current situation, they will lie to make themselves feel and/or look better. other people lie for personal gain and benefit, to get or acheive something for themselves. and some people lie because they just like to hear themselves talk and really have nothing of importance to say

Some people lie because  they feel its better than telling the truth and they feel they have put one over on you.  Some lie because it is so deeply buried that after a while whatever they say is a lie because they believe the lie themselves.   What they never realize is that it takes more energy to lie than tell the truth.  And never mind trying to remember the lie that they've told people.  That has to be the biggest albatross ever to carry.

Lies are human nature - I think it would be impossible NOT to lie......and to claim that you never lie would in fact be a lie (LOL)

There are like a zillion reasons that we lie. Sometimes it's not even for ourselves, sometimes we do it to protect other people's feelings.

Lying is a national past time for some! People have to have DRAMA and if they don't have drama they can't live out their boring  pathetic lives!
