Did you know that some casinos pump cumin into the air because it has the effect of making people less inhibited?
They should try pumping some gin into the air. At least then it makes our money worth losing to them.

I've been using cinnamon for awhile now to help regulate blood sugar, although I thought that a teaspoon of cinnamon is much less than 4.5 grams, closer to 1 gram... Where did you get that number from (I was told mine figure from a dietitian, but I can't find an online source)? Remember that standard conversion charts can't really be relied upon since you are converting volume (teaspoons) to weight (grams), so you'd also need to know the density of the substance to make the conversion.... There may also be a difference in packing... Since cinnamon is usually ground, the fluffy powder probably has a lot of air trapped between the particles thereby adding volume to the teaspoon measurement. Hence the dietitian may have stated her figure based on taking a spoonful out of a container rather than a tightly packed teaspoon.

For me because of the variety of cinnamons as well as the inconsistency of measuring by spoonfuls, I usually take my cinnamon in pill form. Then I know better how much I'm getting in each dose. And it won't overpower the taste on my foods.

There is a web-site that I often went to when I was receiving Chemo treatments that have this information on cinnamon:  WH Foods: Cinnamon, ground and I basically got my information there.  You see, when I was getting treatments, I was also learning about alternatives to help reduce the side effects of chemo.  Cinnamon was one of the spices, I would use to make smoothies or to put in oatmeal.  I also drinked plenty of water, gatorade and vitamin water.  In addition, I went for acupuncture treatments usually two days before my bi-weekly chemo rounds.  It did make a big difference!  For this reason, I'm sharing bits of information about various spices and foods I've eaten during this time because I do believe their nutrient value was one of the biggest factors in my treatment.  I truly believe in combining traditional medicines and alternatives for the best results.  I've done another posting on the benefits of cloves.  I will continue to do more of these spices and food nutritional values in future postings.

Cinnamon is also good for reducing bad cholesterol.  A nutritionist recommended cinnamon to me.   I use cinnamon in coffee and tea, on cereal, bread, and all dessert items.   Just a little ....    You can't go wrong with a little cinnamon.  Also, I wonder.  Couldn't it be used to make a room smell sweet?
