I dislike the fact that alcohol is legal, however; pot is not. I wouldn't do it, but I disagree with the fact that there is the government deciding on what I can or can not put into my own body. I feel that they should get their nose out of it and the failing "war on drugs" would be less of an issue if they did such a thing.

Decriminalize it at least, I fail to see how pot is such a drug causes anything more harmful than alcohol. How many deaths are there per year due to alcohol use (dui) compared to drug use?
Well..... weed's death rate is (by the FDA) 0. that's right, ZERO

Legalizing Marijuana would be the best thing ever!! Alcohol is dangerous too.  And technically it's considered a drug according to my health class.  It would stimulate the economy like crazy.  Plus gang violence would decrease.  People wouldn't go to jail as much so there would be more room for people who really need to be in jail.  It would solve countless problems.  If health is a concern, healthcare is on the way.

No. It is proven to cause negative changes in cognition (learning and memory) hence the stereotype of the "stoner"... Why dumb our nation down any more than we already are?

instead of throwing facts in your face of why it is illegal and virtually harmless how about i put it at a different angle to sway you from the weak, bullshit cycles that have been passed down to you. Who the hell is the government to control personal behavior? if you smoke weed you aren't hurting anyone else but possibly yourself. it is a personal choice. do you really think the government has a right to regulate how you decide to live your life?

They should legalize marijuana, marijuana is not bad for you I think. Cocaine is bad for you. I'd rather vote for this to legalize  :binkybaby:

You should tell all of the victims of DUI and work related injuries that have been cause by marijuana that they are not hurting anyone else.
Bullshit is to continue to believe in something no matter how much facts is put in front of you. AND your facts about are not facts but opinions based on people that believe the same BS. Sad1

I still don't see how anyone can see this as a cure for violence/crime or the economy...you obviously are young or not very smart on how things work....or both!

Absolutely a NON-argument, Chase. The FDA stats are based on overdoses from marijuana which is virtually impossible unless it is laced with something - which is also NOT taken into consideration. This vs alcohol is NOT an argument because of alcoholic toxicity/poisoning, deaths due to longterm use and cirrhosis/hepatic liver failure, diabetic complications brought on by alcohol induced/acquired diabetes, etc.

The DEA does NOT look at deaths caused in accidents happening while a person was under the influence of marijuana, so that is not a valid argument. You are all of 18(?) and believe me, you are not basing any of your reasons on viable or realistic circumstances and stats because you don't know them.
You are entitled to your own opinion, but you are not entitled to your own facts.

Legalize, regulate, and tax it...just as we do alcohol!!! I'm tired of the fuss and expense of keeping it illegal. Let 'em smoke the stuff as long as they stay away from me.

it should be legalized, the only reason why it's not is because they can't figure out a way to tax it and make money on it because anyone can grow it.  it would put a stop to underage drinking and lesson drinking and driving.  it helps millions of people with cancer and other issues....

Too bad Prop 19 (the "legalize marijuana" initiative) did not pass in CA. We lost a great source of potential revenue for our bankrupt state.
