I'm working on losing weight and getting fit. I do a great job during the day watching what I eat, I run most days and do the elliptical machine at the gym and the machines....but here's the problem. At night I eat like a crazy person. I try so hard not to but I just do it. How do you stop the night time munchies?
The reason you might me hungry at night is because you maybe restricting your meals during the day. Here some tips that may help you with your problem.
1. Never skip breakfast in fact eat a large one. If you skip breakfast you'll gorge later in the evening.
2. Instead of eating only 3 meals a day, increase it but eat smaller portions.
3. Snacking is okay & it helps if the sneak is healthier but junk food is okay too just in smaller portions.
4. Increase you water in take. You'll feel fuller if you drink more water daily. It will also help you keep hydrated & helps with flushing out impurities out of your body.
5. Don't buy these snacks, if it's not here the temptation will not there either.
6. If you're starving your self during the day, you'll gorge at night. When you starve yourself your body will go into reserve fat mode & whatever you eat no matter how small that food will be converted to fat. It's a survival mechanism from the caveman's day during the lean times when food is scarce.
7. Walking daily will help with weight loss.
8. Have plenty of sleep. Studies have been done where if you get enough sleep, it will help you slim down.
9. Don't be hard on yourself it you fail. Forgive yourself & try again.
10. Don't change the type of foods too quickly. For example: if you're a meat eater & eat a lot of meat, gradually add vegs to your diet & gradually decrease the amount of meat you're eating. If eat too much junk food, gradually replace it with healthier food. If you push to fast in this, you'll rebel & you'll end up worst off.
I've tried to lose weight for along time & failed every time. I failed because I would always dump on myself about not being strong enough. I decide to fool my brain so that I don't end up making myself fail. I gradually, increased my vegs & gradually decreased meats. I walk at least 3 times each week. I try to get some sleep. Use weights to strengthen my arms at least once a week. The more muscle you have more your body will be able to burn fat. I snack with both junk food & healthy food. If I get hungry late at night, I usually curb it by eating a fruit or drinking something to fill me up. Most importantly, I don't get mad at myself if I do fall of the wagon. Losing weight slowly is better than losing it quickly because you'll just end up gaining it all back & then some. I tell myself that I'm not on a diet. That I'm eating the same as before. This helps to trick your mind & you'll not fail on purpose. Like a lot of us on diets do to ourselves.
