I'm a crochet artist that enjoys crocheting very much... just wondering if there's anyone like me on FC?

I have crocheted since I was nine, I guess that makes me an old timer!!!  Favorite thing to crochet is afghans, they go much quicker than knitting.

I use to crochet BK (before kids) and now that I have an empty nest, I've picked it back up again.  I'll stitch when I take a break from the computer.  I'll stitch while I'm viewing videos or waiting for ads to load while playing games.
Have a wonderful day!

I use to crochet years ago.  I made alot of things, snowmen, toilet tissue holders, afgan and did some knitting too.  I had always wanted to learn but had no one to teach me.  A lady at work told me to bring my yarn and nettile and she taught me at out lunch break.   I pick it right up and it was so much fun.

It really is too bad that more people dont crochet, I find that a lot of my students are trying to learn and their mothers/grandmothers don't so they learn out of a book.  My kids aren't interested in learning, maybe my granddaughter someday.

I love to crochet just don't have much time anymore. But when I do I can't stop I've made baby blankets blankets for my kids, booties , just learned how to make granny squares. I sometimes go online to get s9ome ideas. My grandma taught me when I was around 8 I caught on quick and loved it ever since learned a lot of differnt patterns. Still learning how to make flowers ;)

Yes I too love to crochet.  I wanted to learn for a long time so I taught myself to crochet.  I have made baby blankets,  afgrag blankets, disk towels, blankets for my dogs and rugs, but I really don't like  granny squares.  It is to time consuming.  I have seen some really pretty ones with the tiny little squares.

I don't have time to crochet to much any more and with my artritus in my hands it makes it hard.

I crochet afghans and have made about 50 of them for presents - they are good wedding presents.

I did a little knitting, but my stitching gauge is way off, so stick to the crochet.

No, I don't crochet, but I've thought about learning. My granny was particularly good at doing it, and made some beautiful things. I wonder if I have the patience for it though. I'm always on the go too, so not sure if I'll really sit down and learn it.

I love to crochet when the time permits. My hobby is most needle crafts. I'm now looking for the correct fabric for a suit jacket. A JoAnn's fabrics is going to open close to our community and can't wait to view their variety of fabrics. The only thing we have now is a Wal Mart sewing center which is miniscule at best.

I have a beret started for my daughter in law for Christmas. I found a lovely pale lavender/dusty rose color (very fine yarn). I've never seen quite this shade of color before. I like finding shades that are off the beaten path. She will love it.

Has anyone done any "lace crochet"?  Don't mean like doily stitches or finished products. While I fail to see the practicality of the finished products, it is pretty.

I've seen some amazing things turned out by professional crocheter's, and they don't even use a pattern. It just comes out of their head and they make it up as they go along. There was one long sleeved (slightly belled wrists/cuffs) overlay jacket made out of butterflies, flowers, etc. It was exquisite and would be worth hundreds of dollars because of how intricate it was. The lady used white thin twine to work it. She was from Europe somewhere.
