Calling All Crocheters and Knitters!

I purchased a beautiful new yarn bowl from a crafter on Etsy a few days ago, and I'm due to get it just before Christmas! I'm not sure how to insert a picture from my computer, but it's really gorgeous. I have gotten tired of having my desktop clogged up with yarn, hooks, scissors, and needles, so I've gotten this beautiful ceramic bowl with a groove for the yarn to be pulled through and plenty of room for needles, hooks, and yarn! Does anybody else have one of these yarn bowls? I'd never actually heard of such a thing until about a year ago.

I have seen the bowls online, they are beautiful, I have yarn and needles stashed wherever.

That sounds like it would be pretty handy! All my stuff is always tangled up in a plastic bag somewhere haha

I have a beautiful one I got from Amazon last year.  It’s really handy put the ball into the base and run the wool through the opening.  Never have run away ball of yarn again.  Just make sure the one you bought does not have rough edges where the yarn comes out otherwise it will pull the yarn.

what a wonderful way to store the yarn! i have never heard of it i always kept mine in a tote bag ! i will get on amazon and check this out  thanks

The bowls I have seen were very attractive and very practical.  Hope you are enjoying yours..both to look at and use!

I have not seen the bowl but it sounds like it can be very useful. I will check it out now to see what it is like.

I have never heard of a bowl but what a great idea for organizing everything.

Sounds like a wonderful idea.  I am one who gets upset if things aren't organized.  A bit obsessive I guess.;  Are they on Amazon??

I had to do an internet search to look up how beautiful could a yarn bowl be, & what exactly is a yarn bowl... and surprising enough they are pretty clever & the design is quite innovative for keeping yarn managed while using it.   Does the crafter on Etsy actually make the bowl out of clay themselves?  I'm always impressed by people who can do such crafty things... it's amazing.  Hope your bowl is as fantastic as it sounds

Thanks for the advice on the curve that the yarn goes through being smooth. That is so important! i would hate to snag my yarn!

Yes, knitting/crocheting bowls can be found on Amazon. I just happened to get mine from Etsy.  Just put in the search term "yarn bowl" and they'll come up on Amazon.
