The older you are it is best to get a flu shot and if you have diabetes you should get a flu shot too. I have been getting flu shots for the past 5 years.

I've got tenone the last 5 years in a row, and while flu raged through my first grade class for months, I only got mild versions that left me feeling tired but able to function.

I do not know what to do because some people get bad side effects from the flu shot. The question then is: Is the prevention shot worst than the disease?

I get them every year, but I have not gotten one as of yet.  I plan on it as soon as I can but I don't think they get here until October but I am getting one.

They help some but not others.  I think there is a pill that  is equal to the flu shot but I am not 100% sure.

I don't get flu shots. I'm 25, and I was told I could get it if I want, but someone my age doesn't need to worry much about it because my immune system should be able to fight it off. I was told that babies and senior citizens are the most at risk, and I know (from working at a pharmacy for 5 years) that sometimes, vaccinnes for things like the flu or shingles can be hard to get. So...I'll sacrafice myself so that a baby or elderly person can get theirs!

Never get them, but usually don't get the flu either.  I hate shots, and whenever I used to get them I generally got more sick from the flu shot than I do if I get the flu!

I used to have to get them when I was in the military, every year, weather I wanted to or not. I always came up with the flu. I haven't got one in about 15 years.

There is plentiful evidence that vaccinations are less than beneficial. The venerable British Anti-Vaccination League http://www.vaccination.org.uk/a/navl.html  (and, incidentally, George Bernard Shaw) were vociferously against them. Homeopathic medical writers frequently include passages in their texts on how to treat vaccinosis, or the side-effects of vaccinations (Clarke, 1972). Certainly the U.S. Government cannot say without qualification that shots are either safe or essential.  After all, this is what was said about the infamous Swine Flu vaccine in a 1976 FDA Consumer Memo in my possession: "Some minor side effects - tenderness in the arm, low fever, tiredness - will occur in less than 4% of (vaccinated) adults. Serious reactions from flu vaccines are very rare." So much for blanket claims of safety, for many persons well remember the very numerous and very serious side effects of Swine Flu vaccine that forced the federal immunization program to a halt.

As far as being essential, in the same memo the FDA said this of the same vaccine: "Question: What can be done to prevent an epidemic?  Answer: The only preventive action we can take is to develop a vaccine to immunize the public against the virus. This will prevent the virus from spreading."

This was seen to be totally false; after all; the public immunization program was abruptly halted and still there was no epidemic of Swine Flu. If vaccination were the only defense, literally tens of millions of Americans should have been struck down with the Swine Flu, for a large percentage of the population of the U.S. was not vaccinated.

I never get flu shots. I think its just another pharmacutical scheme to make money. Not to mention, has anyone ever done research on whats in these sort of vaccines were injecting into our bodies, and into our childrens bodies...? just saying.

I have never gotten a flu shot before, but this year I am really considering it. One reason is because I had the flu last month oddly, and it was horrible.
