My Girlfriend and The Kentucky Derby

My girlfriend always picks the horse with the fluffiest tail to win the Kentucky Derby each year and one year she actually picked the winner! I call that,  "Lady Luck."

I am not saying that is a good reason for picking a winner but I have heard of a lot worse reasons.  A lot of the time we would all have better luck picking winners if we got our girlfriends to pick the winners for us randomly or for whatever reason they choose.

After I got interested in horse racing (when I still lived in Texas), our boss from California came to town and our group all went to the local racetrack for an outing one night. Knowing my interest in horses, he was joking with me about how I'd probably make the best bets, have the best insight, etc. So I'm studying the racing form and looking at pedigrees and speed figures and whatnot for a half hour before the first race. After about a minute of glancing at the form, the boss decided to pick a horse with "Disco" in his name, because he always liked disco music. He put down a $5 bet. And his horse won. Over got over $50! My horse wasn't even in the top 3. Aggggghhhh!   :BangHead:

I just wish I had a girlfriend even if she did not have a fluffy tail. :)

You could say that having the fluffiest tail could mean better breeding and more time and attention given to the horse. I am sure that isn't her reason lol but it makes a little bit of sense right ?
