It has really hit hard on all of us that are on a fixed income. My dad lives out on the farm which is 10 miles away and we get his groceries and meds and take out every few days and also have to go out at other times to do some work so it really adds. Pluse at times we have to take him shopping and the nearest walmart is 80 miles away. While we are there we try to do all of the shopping for the farm and other things to save having to make a lot of trips. Also have auntie (99 soon) in a nursing home. almost 5 hours away so have had to cut out some of our trips to see her. But if you heard the news the Prez. feels for us. Like he is going to do anything about it.

Oh yeah...

Shop at Safeway to get a discount on gas... (only sales items +coupons)

and it still is over $4.25 a gal.

It's insane........

and... no we don't go anywhere unless it's bunched with other driving we need to do.

The gas prices just made me more angry with those friggin' republicans. You know, those politicians that are in bed with the oil companies. I will be voting for Obama.

Each paycheckk I pay either my car payment or my insurance and the rest is all gas! I drive a 08 focus that gets about 30 miles to the gallon or more and I have seen a huge difference in not only how much I get for what I am spending, but also the quality of the gas.  :( whoever said gas prices do not affect our wallets has their head up their *bleep*!

One thing to keep in mind is gas prices typically do have a tendency to increase election years.  The price of oil is impacted by the stock market, and during an election year, things get more volatile as the "world" becomes wary of the political uncertainty.

Last election I recalled prices were higher than they are now - and I expect they will get at least that high this time around too.  The good news is if this is part of the reason for the increase, hopefully that will mean they should drop again after the election hub-bub settles down like they did last time.  I recalled prices dropped almost $2/gal after the last election (down from an all time high).

Here's hoping that's the main reason!

Gas prices have definitely had an impact on my bottom line. When you're as busy as my wife and I, you could run up a nice gas bill; not with unnecessary trips, but with realy important trips here and there.

I agree with monnee

As the gas prices go up it affects the price of everything else we pay for.

Groceries - trash removal bill etc.

The higher the price of gas goes ... the higher the price of everything is.

I don't own a car, but I do see the difference, The price in how much the town cab cost's has gone up, it cost over 8 bucks for 2 people to go just down the street to the next town over. The price's have also made it so I can no longer find rides for a decent price to out of town doctors appointments, and theirs also family in the next state over that I havnt seen in over a year, but it looks like it might be longer than I hoped before I get to attend family get togethers out of town and even longer before I buy my own car =(

The gas prices just made me more angry with those friggin' republicans. You know, those politicians that are in bed with the oil companies. I will be voting for Obama.

Considering gas prices have doubled since Obama took office, and considering he and those in his administration want higher gas prices and consider higher gas prices to be a 'good' thing, and considering most Obama advocates support the strange liberal variation of 'paying your fair share' I find your comments strange.  Or did I misunderstand what you meant and that you actually want the prices higher than they currently are?
There are only 10 types of people in the world:  those who understand binary, and those who don't.
