Recurring phone calls
« on: July 02, 2012, 04:34:39 pm »
I recently received a phone call that sounded like a scam! They wanted me to go to my computer and in a few steps I would be eligable for a $100 gift card. They said they were not selling anything it was from a recent survey I completed. I refused and the woman got a little nasty. The problem is i only do surveys on FusionCash.

I rarely give my phone number out on surveys for that purpose. I know a lot of people use a skype line, google voice etc. so they can avoid calls like this. I have also seen people get those you've won x amount text messages after doing surveys. So maybe you should see about avoiding giving your number altogether or chosing "skip step" which not all surveys offer while others you just have to look around for it.

Yea i have gotten a few phone calls as well but nothing that was like you are describing.....I am mainly getting ones for car insurance quotes or home improvements.  I have done surveys relating to these things recently so im not suprised to get a call or 2.

I get spam texts from the few times I gave my cell number out when I first started doing FC, but nothing like you experienced. Now I know better and don't give it to anyone

I never give my number. If a survey requires it I'll do without that couple of dollars. I haven't found too many where you have to put it in though.

I rarely give out my phone number, but there have been a few times that I have and have been bombarded by phone calls.  It's a drag.  Just be careful.

I rarely give out my number, but if I do get calls, I don't answer any numbers I don't recognize, and I don't call back numbers from messages left.  Most of these places don't leave messages, anyway, because they know you won't call back.

People lie, especially scam artists. Anyone can call anyone and claim that "we got your number from a survey you have just completed". Your caller could have gotten your number from anywhere. The call probably had nothing to do with Fusion Cash.

I give out my home number for surveys and stuff, but the telephone system filters out who gets through and who automatically goes to voice mail. Most of the scammers don't leave a voice mail. I use my cell phone for rl people.

I was lying in bed the other night, looking up at the stars, and thinking, "Where in the heck is my roof?"
