I'm very nervous starting a new job, especially if it's a place where all my new coworkers would be new faces to me. But then again, I haven't even started my first job yet so I'm not too sure. It's just the idea of starting a job at a place where I barely know anyone is frightening.

Congratulations on the new job!!! I don't get scared, just a bit apprehensive at first, until I know the ropes, then it's plain sailing onwards. Good luck!

Interesting subject!!! I really wouldn't have thought that would be a subject anyone would post, although I have actually had a lot of times when I started new jobs that I felt uncomforatable enough I had nightmares or didn't sleep at all just relax, may be get a book at the library and read up on the type of job you are getting that may help alot more than you would think,

right now, I could use a new job since it seems like I hit a dead end road with my current job. I wish I could get better position. otherwise, I may have to go find a new job.

Ya...I think it's natural to feel some anxiety over starting a new job.  Just remember....

Life's a dance.  You learn as you go.  Be patient with yourself.

Remember the first day of kindergarten?  Some 5 year old kids are stressed if they don't know all the alphabet before the first day of school.  The bottom line is that they're expecting too much of their selves.

Lighten up and let yourself have a new experience.  Tell yourself that you'll do your best and your best is always good enough.

Oh...and...congratulations on the new job!

Have a great day!

I'm always afraid of starting a new job.  It's really just fear of the unknown.  But since you'll be in training, you know that everyone else is in the same boat.  After you get there, you'll be fine.  Good luck!

I think everyone is nervous when starting a new job.

It's change and most people do not like change .. it takes them out of their comfort zone.

I am always nervous even though I am a usually confident person.  Once I adjust I am fine.

I've been nervous about starting a new job before.  Once you get used to everything that anxiety will go away.  I think it's natural to feel this way about starting something new, but at least you know people there and you are confident you know how to do the job.  You will be fine  :)

well my man talked to my trainer and she says i wont fail the class. so, some stress has been lifted from me. i was thinking about it too much and i know it was probably hurting my baby. i cant afford to lose this job but if i cant hack it then i have to be fired or quit. i felt like i was disappointing my man which pushed for me to get in the place and made sure i had the hours i did. sometimes i dont feel good and i cant concentrate on my tests so i get a bad grade. i know the trainer sees me participating in class and giving the right answers when called on so, she knows i am trying. hopefully everything goes well.

Whenever I changed jobs, I would be so upset I couldn't sleep the night before, so I probably didn't look too sharp, but once I would get there and start working, everything was just fine.  It is just the idea of starting something new and meeting new people.

I've never been afraid of job interviews, orientations, starting a new job, speaking in front of people.  What gets uncomfortable for me is being the "new hire" and not knowing how everything "works" right away.  I don't enjoy the "learning process" that comes with experience.  I'd rather just start my job and know exactly what I'm doing from the "get-go".  It's always such a relief after I've been there awhile and know what to expect and how to do everything.
I'll be starting a new job soon, have orientation this week.  It's another night job to replace my "old" night job, with more hours and more pay per hour.  So excited but...stressed until I know how it all works.  :P

I think it is scary and exciting to start a new job. I am looking forward to the whole process of starting a new career and job, looking now, just finished school! Even though i'm not fresh out of high school I am proud of myself.
