Very touchy subject.  Abortion is not for me. I have been careful, in my life, not to get pregnant and I am happy I was so diligent.

I do agree that people should be responsible before they have sex and make a decision to use some form of protection or no sex at all. There are WAY too many unwanted children in the world today. Does it really matter how they all came to be?

As I said abortion is not for me, but I understand it has a place in our world, that there is a need for it. Imagine how many more unwanted children there would be right now if they were not aborted. Imagine the suffering that many of those children would have gone through if brought into this world. Imagine how many of them would have died tragically by thier parents hands. Imagine these unwanted children as adults... would they be productive members of society or rapists, robbers and killers.

Abortion is not for me, but I believe it is a necessity in our world.  :'(

I am pro-choice. most abortions must be BEFORE 8 weeks, and they are EXPENSIVE. i don't think anyone in their right mind uses them as contraception (which is a common idea among pro-lifers) if an unplanned pregnancy occurs, it wasn't intentional whether or not condoms were used or birth control was used. I know someone who got pregnant while taking her birth control regularly - as directed - with a condom that broke and got pregnant. For someone who did everything they are told to do, why should they not have another way to avoid the life they had tried so hard to avoid? many people associate abortions with the typical, invasive measures taken - there are other ways, including a pill taken at the office and then you walk out the door. A lot of people are against abortions because of the method used, but what about this new method? where do you get off suggesting that others should not be able to choose whether or not they want a child. you can believe in adoption over abortion, but what about those 9 months? what if that person was put on bed rest at 4 months? what if that person had died due to complications because she couldn't get an abortion? what if she had been raped?
Think about that one for a second, a 16 year old girl is raped, and gets pregnant, she cannot have an abortion - so she gives the baby up for adoption so she can forget the horrible thing that happened to her. Fast forward 18 years. that child now wants to find his birth mom, and he shows up at her door, asking why she gave him up. now change the circumstance from rape to incest. Would you allow a 14 year old girl impregnated by her own father, uncle, brother... to abort that baby?
If so, congratulations - you are now pro-choice. You cannot be pro-life and agree to it in a few situations, unfortunately society cannot work that way. otherwise we would have a TON of "rapes" so that an unplanned pregnancy could be aborted.
If you continue to say you wouldn't allow that young girl to get an abortion, I would re-evaluate your thinking process. What if it was you, your sister, your daughter, or your granddaughter?

i think its wrong i got my tubes tied i love my kids but would never got an abortion unless i was raped or really sick or something of that nature it really is a touchy subject and have you ever been to an abortion clinic? the girls in there look so pitiful and pictures of the infant body parts and let me just stop there a babys heart starts beating before you can even sneeze thats why people say life begins at contraception wear a rubber or find some type of birthcontrol because abortion is also damaging to your cervix :female: :crybaby2:

I think abortion is awful. If you don't want a baby but want a better life for the baby then give the baby up for adoption. I am adopted from China and I believe that my birth mother wanted me to have a better life.

Somehow, in the first place I feel that this is a bit inappropriate in this kind of forum.

It should be up to the person to decide what would be in her best interest and no one should meddle or criticize be it the government or any religion/religious organization.  I would leave it up to the person to decide what to do since she is the one that will have to live with her decision for the rest of her life regardless of anyone else's opinion.

I think that a woman has a right to choose what she wants to do with her body. If unplanned pregancy is something she faces, then she should have the power to choose how to handle it. Technically the unborn fetus is not considered a "citizen" until birth so it has no constitutional rights. I'm pro-choice.

I am against them. many young kids don't know though, and before they know they could of done this, we need to educate people, I think if the education was out there, more would be stopped, also I think the more people who know Christ, they will not abort their children. I did not know Christ until I was 32 years old. This is a shame, we need to get the message to younger generation to prevent this from happening. :angel12:

That's not "education", it's a recommendation to brain-wash younger people with religious superstitions.  Less of that is needed, not more.

I am completely against them.  A woman has a right to choose, but I don't believe the government should use my hard-earned tax dollars to pay for them because someone was stupid enough to get pregnant in the first place.  Let her pay for it.

For myself, I wouldn't choose abortion, but I certainly understand the reasons some women do it (incest/rape, mental/physical disformalities, and so on).

I do not support abortion and I'm not against it.  This is somthing I am completely neutral on!  A woman should have the right to choose what she does with her body.
