do you bake your own pies

I can bake a really nice pie, but I haven't done so for a long time.  Too many people on restricted calories it seems.  So if we have desserts around the house, I end up eating more than my fair share or throwing it out.

Yes, I'm a man who bakes desserts.  I started out as the typical guy who could only cook using a microwave, grill, or smoker.  Later I tried baking and realized I wasn't bad at it, in fact I make desserts on holidays because relatives like my desserts.  This Christmas I'm thinking of trying a coconut rum cake.  Pies I mostly bake include sweet potato, buttermilk, and cheesecake (technically it can be considered a pie).

I don't do the baking, but my wife sure does. My waste line gets a little bigger each year!

I don't make my own pies.  I usually just get frozen.  Those are wonderful.  I like the homemade crust very much
but the fruit is usually too hard or thick in the homemade pies.  We even bought the pies at the deli once just to try, thinking
they would be better than frozen, but nope.  I guess its just what you get used to.

I used to bake my own pies but the last few years I've just bought the frozen ones.  One of these days I'm going to make a lemon meringue pie though as I have a really good recipe for it.

No. Unfortunately, I can't cook. I do help my granmda bake pies when she wants to make them, so I guess that's a yes. Lol.

I so miss my Granny's homemade chocolate pies.  She did it all from scratch and made it seem effortless.  I have attempted the chocolate pie from memory but it did not come out so well.  I would love a great chocolate pie recipe if anyone has one handy they don't mind sharing.  I remember it was simple and she cooked the filling on top of the stove.  But I just can't remember enough . . . I made a real mess of it.  I do pretty good with meringue but not the filling. As my life gets a little simpler, I look forward to diving into baking from scratch more often.

I usually buy pies! I love pies! The stores seem to bake them very good and a lot less time to eat them too!

I like crisps better than pies as I don't care much for pie crust. I make crisps from scratch once in awhile.
