recycling

Is there recycling in your city?
I just found out our city USED to but doesn't anymore.
Our city "garbage officials" send the recyclables to ANOTHER city's recycling plant.
I remember when I was visiting a friend in Poland.
Her uncle set up a recycling station in the back yard.
I thought it was very well built.

Our city has mandatory recycling - and they are pretty comprehensive.  We're lucky in that we don't have to separate recyclables anymore - just dump them all into a special recycling garbage can for street pickup.  We can toss most anything in - including junk mail (just started that this year).  The only recyclable they don't allow at present is they just started allowing styrofoam recycling for the packing type of styrofoam.  We have to place those in clear bags and drop it off at a site for recycling - no street side pickup.

Our city does recycle, we have different garbage containers for street pickup. A Refuse container, a Recycle container and a Grass container. There are recycling centers conveniently located throughout the city for those who like to drop their recycling off.

We have recycling here and I do think that everyone should make an effort to do it.  I cringe when I see a can or bottle or newspaper in the garbage and i usually fish it out so i can take it home to recycle.  This world belongs to our children and grandchildren.  Let's keep it clean for them.   :peace:

Our township recycles. They have provided each house with huge containers to be picked up on assigned days.

Our city recycles.  We get a $2 credit on our water/sewer/trash bill.  I started doing it just for the $2 credit, but then I realized how much of the stuff we use comes in a box, bag, bottle... so it makes me feel better about what I'm throwing away.

We have some recycling centers but could use more. We do recycle cans and any scrap metal we don't need.

I live out in the country and we have a recycling trailor that sits at our township building.  I just haul my stuff there.  It can be a pain but I have been to the landfill several times and have seen all the trash filling up the earth.   We owned our own hauling company and I just feel like I'm doing my duty by recycling.

We live in a place where we have to recycle, so we all have our own blue bins where we put plastic, tin, glass, etc.  I think it is a great idea!
