Christmas Ads
« on: October 15, 2012, 12:41:23 pm »
Today 10-15-2012 and I saw my first Christmas ad for Target. Really?  ??? It's not even Halloween yet and they are showing Christmas ads. This is getting down right stupid!   :sad1:      What do you think? :dontknow:

I agree completely. They start Christmas merchandising earlier and earlier each year.
It seems like all the holidays are being 'run together'.
I feel it makes each one less special.

The xtian assimulation of the pagan solstice of December 21st was always a "stupid" cultural theft and revisionism.
One can lead a horse to water however, if one holds the horse's head under, that horse will drown.

I haven't seen any Christmas ads yet, but I hate seeing Christmas items in the stores at the beginning of October.  They could at least wait till after Halloween.   :-

When you know the truth and it sets you free you dont have to be a part of all that holiday hogwash!!

Give someone a gift from the heart rather then from Santa Claus in Jesus name LOL!!

The truth is that winter solstice, (around December 21st), had been a 'pagan' festival/holiday thousands of years before any xtian revisionist mythology stole it for assimulation purposes.

I think they are trying to make as many sales as possible before no one has any money left to buy anything with.  Usually I see the next holiday rather than Thanksgiving getting passed over.

Christmas in October? I haven't seen any Christmas ads...yet that is. But yeah that's pretty stupid to be starting this early.

I think purchasing Christmas Gifts early is a great ideal!  This helps to cut down on the number of gifts you need to purchase later and saves money.  Especially when you can find good sales on items you want to buy. :)

Why are people writing unnecessary comments he asked about Christmas ads not all that other nonsense. please stick to the questions if you don't believe in something or have a problem with something(religion anyones, any faith) that's you stay on subject. I love the holiday season and I agree way too  early I saw christmas being put up last month. No one wants to see christmas in stores before halloween. I agree companies are probably trying to get money. With things being the way they are companies are trying to get early sales. A lot of people start their christmas shopping early anyway so I guess it's really not a big deal.

I don't mind.  It makes much more sense to spread your cost over time (I do the entire year!) rather than all in one month.  Just ignore the fact that is shows Christmas and focus on the items and savings.  If it is something that would be a great birthday gift or item for the gift closet, get it!  Who cares that the ad background is red and green!

I'm with ya there!!!!  I think retailers are becoming more and more money hungry so they start out earlier and earlier every year with ads and such.  Heck, they even have DECORATIONS IN THE STORES ALREADY!!!!!  Pretty soon if they keep up this pace we will be seeing Christmas in July!!!!  I like the good old days when Christmas wasn't even mentioned until AFTER THANKSGIVING!!!!!

I appreciate your responses. Also, I agree, why cant people just answer the qustions asked and not go on a rant about something else. (religion, i.e.)
