assembly line / assembling things

When you buy furniture, it needs to be assembled.
When you buy medical equipment, it needs to be assembled.

I was putting my breakfast fruit mix together this morning.
I put one fruit in first, the second one, then the third one. .....I thought of an assembly line as I was doing it.
