Twinkies

I liked twinkies as a child. It was a treat, when we got one. Which was not often. My mother did not believe we should have sweets when we were kids. But what a treat. Now i could care less. But i do feel so bad for all that have lost their jobs. Have you noticed so much of this goes on just before the holidays, I also believe the unions have caused a lot of the problems. The sad thing  is they lose so many days protesting for higher wages that they never make it up. And then when they get a raise, they have to pay an increase in their union dues. Only the union bosses come out ahead.

I was not a twinkie fan but my favorite bread Oven Gold was delievered by the Merita truck and since Merita was part of the Hostess co. they went down too and now I cannot buy Oven Gold bread which really upsets me as it is the only bread I enjoy. I feel so sad for the people who lost their jobs. The truck driver said he had just bought a house and he lost everything. So sad.

I love twinkies to as a little girl. but my mother  did not wont to let use eat  sweet too much. so we had it ones a week. So now I do not like them to much now so my little girl love them a lot so I buy them for her now.

With all the publicity they got, I'm sure another company will buy them and they'll be back in the stores in no time.

Yes I just was saying too some one that I was a twinkes eater my self me and my sister was too so that is not good news for the kids.

I miss Twinkies too!  well, there's always Little Debbie snacks.

I really thought I missed them, but after I just bought a box (and consumed it!) I realized that they were much to sweet for my taste!  As a kid, YEAH, but as an adult?  I will not be burring another box IF they are still around.

Anyone have any thoughts or opinions on Hostess going out of business?

Personally, I think it is another example of how unions - though very good in the beginning have become too powerful.  A lot of people would have been happy to have those jobs without the terms the union was demanding. Just my opinion.  Anyone else have thoughts?

I agree with you.  Now, those people have NO job.  I wonder how they feel about their union now?

I know! I agree with you guys on that. I would rather still have my job than be apart of a Union that ends up taking my job because they think it's better on their terms. What is the point of having a Union anyways, if the employees can't express their opinions or concerns independently? I never understood Unions!!

I used to really love hostess snacks back in the day!  They are really sweet and delicious. I didn't even know that they were going out of business until you mentioned it. I find that the snacks are less appealing to me nowadays because of their nutrition value. I tend to watch my diet more nowadays. I don't think they should go out of business.

Never really liked Twinkies or hostess Cupcakes....Much too sweet.  Did like wonder bread which I believe was made by Hostess.

Another disaster from unions and an administration that suports them. It's too bad that innocent people suffer because of selfish, money hungry individuals.

Don't worry Twinkies or something virtually equivalent to twinkies will be produced again and around for a long time.  It's pretty good news for my friend who runs a Little Debbie route.
