Oh I dream of having the time to make cookies . . . I envy you.  Right now, I buy from bakeries.  Special bakeries that have the cookies everyone talks about!  Don't like buying them from the grocery store much.

I haven't had Christmas cookies in a long time. I sure do have a craving for them now though.

Mmmm there is nothing like home made cookies to me to get in the spirit of the holidays. My mom is already on her 5th kind of baked good. I have yet to start. Today I will make some shortbread cookies that I will shape like candy canes. I will split the batter in two and dye one of them red. Then twist it together and form the shape and I will have candy cane looking shortbread cookies. Tomorrow a pound cake and some coconut drop *bleep* and the list goes on until Monday starts my full week of visiting and having loved ones over to enjoy in the goodies.

Usually get them at the store since we don't really like to bake it

For cookies I tend to buy the dough and go from there but for treats and pies I make them from scratch.

I love old fashioned sugar cookies decorated with colored icing and sprinkles of all kinds.  I have many different Christmas cookie cutter shapes.  I do hope I will have time to bake some this year.  I'm making a pound cake first.  I can still remember how great my grandmother's pound cake always tasted.  Of course, she used real butter and eggs.  How could it NOT have been good.  I try to stay health conscious and cut down on some of the fat and calories, but it's still good to me!
