Let’s talk tv.

I have to say that while the Following is rated R for gruesome scenes (which they are pretty gross)  it is a pretty good show.  Honestly I am not impressed with Kevin Bacon but James Purefoy is a wickedly good villian.  Not quite sure if he could convince me to poke my eye out with an icepick put I certainly would love to take his litureature class condemend serial killer or not.

I’ve been watching 666 Park Avenue on an off from its pilot episode and while I wouldn’t say I’m an ocult fan of the show, I do have to say that every episode I’ve watched is really gripping.  It’s like a horror movie.  I don’t mean the current horror crap that’s all gore with people’s sawed-off limbs but the good ‘old fashion’ ones that just scrare the crap out of you because they’re really scary.  It is a really well done tv show if you just wanna be scared without all the usually fake gorey blood stuff.

Been watching the Arrow since its pilot episode.  I think its quite good.  It’s not too darkly serious to enjoy though not-light hearted enough to be some sappy ‘chick flick’.

So pissed a covert affairs.  I liked Auggie and Annie as friends.  And what’s with the agency?  They wouldn’t let her have Ben (from season 1) but they will let her have her handiler?  How is that policy ethical?

I got suckered into watching the pilot episode of Continum and I have to say that while I want to enjoy it I am afraid it will turn into another Buck Rodgers by season two.  Anyone remembers that they will remember that season 2 Buck was used to everything and no longer wanted to find a way home.  Currently all Keira talks about is wanting to get back to her time (2027 or 2077 something like that), to her son.  (Not even her husband so there must be some back story there.)  But all I kept thinking was, ‘hey they gave her a hot male cop to partner up with so eventually I don’t think she’ll want to go back home.’  And the fact that she’s chasing these 7 criminals that zapped through the time portal with her well shows over as soon as she catches them.  I’m guessing one at the end of ever season.  Make it last longer.  Unless it doesn’t get viewers then SyFy kills it.  Then she’ll never get home…like Buck.

Speaking of 666 Park Avenue I don’t get why if Jane Van Veen is a “child of The Drake” or rather the granddaughter of Jocelyn Kramer (who’s father Peter killed her mother and is now trying to kill Jane) why is Jocelyn appearing to Jane as a little girl?  Considering that Henry (Jane’s boyfriend) talks about how Jane claimed her grandmother went crazy and was put in an institution.  I guess you aren’t supposed to make sense of the little details just go alone with the flow.

In 666 Park Avenue I don’t get exactly who Gavin Doran is supposed to be (I mean other than the owner of The Drake).  He acts like the Devil and yet when Olivia (his wife) is nearly killed and then later on goes missing he is generally conserined.  In more than one episode he has shown that nothing matters to him accept his wife and he truly loves her.  I guess that’s just part of the mystery of the show.

Stupid ABC!  I can’t believe they cancelled a sophisticatedly good show like 666 Park Avenue that had a ghost tale and spooky creepiness that harkened back to the days when ghost stories were scary rather than gory.  All for ratings.  Honestly who watches ABC anyway that they’re worried about ratings?

Seriously what ever happens to ‘Disney kids’ after Disney?  I mean where are all those screaming girls who dragged their parents off to a Hannah Montana concert?  Or all that fuss about how Zac Efron was supposed to be the next Leonardo Dicaprio (who atleast found a revival of career with martin scorsese?

Going to watch the following on tivo here in a day or two.  Usually build up 3-4 episodes of a show to watch all at once.  Banshee is a cool new show.

Began watching the old Twilight zone episodes off Hulu and I have to say that usually tv/movie episodes about dolls coming to life like the first two Chuckie movies usually scare the crap out of me (excluding cartoons like all the ones on Pinocchio).  But that Living Doll episode of Season 5 didn’t scare me at all.  I actually enjoyed it!  It was also one of their better ones for the season since five is when they started to ‘become not so good’.

The very first episode of Twilight zone (the original rod sterling production) I watched and  could understand why it was a hit.  I personally thought the episode was ok and probably won’t waste time watching it again, but I also understand given the time period in which it aired why it went on for five seasons.  Now tv shows are lucky to make it passed the first five episodes.
