Which Do You Prefer - Dogs or Cats?

I love both actually, but I LOVE cats. I have a 11/2 year old tiger cat and she never ceases to amaze me. She has such a personality and curls up on our pillow when we sleep. It's so sweet. My husband and I swear she's like a little kid sometimes because she tries to "misbehave" going after our Asian Hamsters. However, the pink water bottle I have seems to do the trick to deter her lol. She is also very sensitive to our moods, whether we are in a bad or good one. And YES she does have her "I don't care" attitudes at times too. It definitely keeps our lives interesting. So what about all of you? Which do you prefer? If neither, what type of animal do you like?

I do not like pets. They are stinky, expensive, and take way too much work.

I love Dogs more than cats. Cats are ok, but dogs have more of a "I want to please you" attitude than a cat. Cats are indepenndant and don't reallly mind you. I don't see many cat tricks and they really don't play fetch. A kitty will rub between your legs and purr when petted. A dog will NOT do that!

I love both. We have a dog and before I married I had a black persian. But we can't have cats because my husband is allergic.

I prefer cats more than dogs, because they are more independent.

No preference.  I grew up with cats and dogs and currently have a yellow lab (female, senior pet) and two cats (males, under the age of two).  I do prefer male cats over female cats.  I never did like the independent "miss thing" attitude that our female cats always had.  The male cats never act like that, they're more affectionate and "needy" when it comes to attention.  I've always liked the dogs/cats with "alot of personality", they're more work but always so very smart.

We have a shelter cat named Princess and she certainly is.  She came to the shelter in a carrier with 8 kittens.  Some of those 8 have her markings but she's not much bigger than a kitten.  Probably 4 of the kittens were hers.  She's very independent and really not a lap cat but she is quite a character.  We originally started just fostering her because we weren't totally over losing our last cat but she quickly became ours or we became hers.  We also volunteer at the shelter and would highly recommend it.

I used to be a cat person until I developed allergies.  Then I became a dog person until I developed allergies.  Now I am a bird person....no allergies yet.
