I don't think it isa a really big deal. The semi nude photos has nothing to do with her opinions on gay marriage. It does seem to indicate she has an odd moral compass, but then I have found the entire pagent buisness to have a rather odd moral compass. The real interest of this story is that it is a story at all, America seems to enjoy watching people fall out of glory and into the mud. A good example of this is American Idol, about half of the people watching want to see who Simon will vocally brutalize and in any given election most people are voting against someone rather than for someone.

Well, people can have strong moral convictions on one thing, but be completely okay with other things. That's a part of life. She's allowed to think for herself and come to the conclusions of her beliefs without being told that she's wrong. This is America.

For the record, my moral convictions say that gay marriage should be allowed.

Personally, I give her credit for saying what she felt and believed instead of what she 'should' have said according to the pageant.  That's not to say I agree with her but at least she had enough personal conviction to stand up for what she believed in.  As for the nude picture 'scandal'...so what.  I don't care.  Is it hypocritical to all she said she believes in?  Yes, but it isn't my problem and doesn't affect me one way or the other.  I don't really care about the whole pageant industry.

:confused1: I believe in gay marrage, but I also believe in freedom of speech. She was honest about her belief, so she should be left alone. It is not right to bash someone for what they believe.. God bless her,,, but God also made gay people.

People are entitled to their opinion. I happen to agree with her. I think that they just started scruitinizing her because she was not politically correct. Thats not fair.

She was "decrowned" for multiple reasons outside of her silly answer...

She, plain and simple, violated the contract she signed on more than one term of agreement.

Quote
Prejean came under further scrutiny last week after semi-nude photos of her purportedly taken when she was a teenager emerged. Her contract contains a clause that asks participants whether they have conducted themselves "in accordance with the highest ethical and moral standards." For example, it asks if they have ever been photographed nude or partially nude.

The beauty queen may also have violated her contract by working for a group that opposes gay marriage and making publicly speaking out against it. Last week, pageant officials said they were looking into whether Prejean violated the 12-page contract all contestants are required to sign before the November state contest.

The document prohibits whoever holds the title of Miss California from making personal appearances, granting interviews or making commercials without permission from pageant officials and gives the pageant's directors the right to revoke her crown for breaching any of the document's provisions.

Since being chosen runner-up at the Miss USA 2009 pageant, Prejean has made televised appearances at her San Diego church and on behalf of the National Organization for Marriage, a group that is opposed to same-sex marriage.

An advertisement the group created based on Prejean's controversial answer at the Miss USA pageant about whether she supported gay marriage remains on the NOM Web site, despite a written request from the Miss Universe Organization, which owns the Miss USA pageant, to remove it.

Why is it "poor girl?"  She signed the exact same contract as every other contestant.  She is expected to uphold that contract.  She didn't.  She payed the consequences that were clearly outlined in the contract she signed.  Who's fault is it besides her's?

Yes, she has the right to her opinion, but at the same time she broke her contract so she should deal with the consequences.  I personally, feel that she is acting like this for publicity reason.  Bad publicity is not really bad if you are trying to become well known.  Just like that Omarosa girl on the Trump show, Apprentice. She is in a lot of guest appearances now for being so negatively outspoken.

they just interviewed her on cbs and she just didn't want to answer the questions. it was a contract and she blames the photographer for putting her photos out there. no accountability from her, at all. she just didn't think she'd get caught. when asked about her breast implants - that the pageant paid for??? - she didn't want to answer that either!

I just read that she will keep her crown.

I think that the only reason she was under such scrutiny is because of her take on same sex marriage.
I bet if they put the same attention onto a number of those girls more than a few of them would be losing their crowns.

Goes to show how you should never ask a question if you dont want to know the truth.

I agree with her keeping her crown. Just about everyone (it seems) has topless/nude pictures somewhere.. at least she wasn't caught sniffing drugs or prostituting herself..
