Oh I'm so envious! :)  The house we are renting has a teensie tiny kitchen, so there is no place for a dishwasher, not even one of those little counter top ones. I miss having a dishwasher.

Can't you get one of those portable dishwashers? My first one was a Kitchen Aid because after we bought our first house, there was no room for a built-in. I kept the DW in the laundry room (next to the kitchen) in a corner and just rolled it out. It served it's purpose and had a butcher block top on it, too, so it served 2 purposes.  ;D

There's just no room for it anyplace, sadly.

I bought a new dishwasher within the last year and felt partly pressured as this is an attraction if I ever wanted to see my home, but sometimes I wonder if this is truly a necessity. I clean my dishes a little before putting this in, but I have no qualms washing manually too. I only truly feel a benefit when my family is hosting a party and this is seldom.

The dishwasher I have is a whirlpool and it is quite and I love it. Sometimes I do wash by hand though. Good luck on your search.

In the coming months, we will be looking to get one as well. Just be sure to check consumer reports as well as numerous sites for the same item as some sites pay people to leave reviews.

I'm with you on wanting a dishwasher. I just moved to a house that didn't have one, so I bought a portable countertop dishwasher that had good reviews. I'm an empty nester and my family lives out of state, so it should suit me just fine.
