Is her doctor aware of all the drugs she is taking?  I know sometimes a person can go to one doctor for one thing, and another for something else.  I would make a list of all the medications and take them to her primary doctor.  Who knows, maybe one med is counteracting another.  Good luck.

Whenever you change doctors they always do a couple of tests to see how your body is doing. But make sure they don't have your previous results because that will make their decision and it could be wrong. I changed doctors and found out Lipitor was not good for me to take I have liver problems and it almost killed me and now because my tests show that I am fine in that department I don't have to take meds for that. I am retired and presently I am not taking any kind of meds and I am glad I don't like taking pills. But if I were you I would take some tests and find out if the meds you are taking are good for you. That is the only way you will know for sure.

She would probably be better off to quit taking all the pills.  Does she have more than one doctor.  They all want to give you a pill or 10 to take and they can interact with others you are taking.  Or with each other.
The doctors don't really care.  And the side effects are worse than the or can be worse than the ailment you have to start with.  I went to a doctor a few years ago who immediately wanted to start me on 2 medication.  I refused and I am fine.  He was mad and wanted to argue.  He just wanted me to roll over and take his word.  I told him it's MY body and I don't want to do that.

Some doctors really don't care, however, it is really her responsibility to see if her drugs are causing her other ailments.

She (or you) should list all the drugs she is taking and why she is taking them. Next you'll want to list all the known side effects of the drugs she is taking. You'll then see which drugs may be causing other problems. In some cases, the doctor can prescribe her another drug that doesn't have those troublesome side effects or better yet, maybe she can get off the drug all together.

It's gonna take a bit of leg work, but with the Internet, you can probably get a lot of this done in under an hour.

It may be a good idea to change doctors too.

Good luck.

My mother had that problem, so she took all her medicines to the pharmacy, and they told her that several were not compatible with others she was taking, and to take those to her doctor and show them.

While the doctor should of been aware of all these, there were a couple times in that time period, that a fill in doctor gave her other prescriptions.

Also some of the prescriptions, my mother was supposed to have stopped taking, but somehow didnt.

She can talk to the pharmacist as well, they understand meds better than the dr.s do.....I hope she get to feeling better real soon....and sometimes I worry when I start a new drug and that causes anxiety along with everything else.....

I certainly can understand your worry my hubby was on SO MANY meds and from different doctors and I had the same concerns.  The pharmacist told me that if you get all your meds from one pharmacy that they check that each time you have something filled but I wonder.  Best of luck to you and your wife, I hope things improve  :rose:

Taking too many meds doesn't do a body and mind good.  I would see another doctor.
