Living to work - passionate about your career.
Working to live - Work is funding your other passions (if you have any, that is).

You work all the time.  You do not have anything to show for it.  Every thing you make goes to pay bills and you struggle to be able to pay the things you have to in order to live.  You do not have anything extra.  Everything you make goes to pay bills or for necessities.

When you "live to work", I believe it is self-explanatory:  you live for the sole purpose of working.  In the case of "working to live", you work for the sole existence of survival.  You live from "check to check" and never see your head above water.  I have done the "work to live" status, and it was no fun; I never saw my head above water.  I would like to "live to work", but I deal with things as it is.   ??? ??? ??? :rainbow: :rose:

My deffinition of living to work would be..

Being in a state where you are passionate about what your doing and enjoy doing it.. You put your work first and don't have much time for anything else. Also probably adding workaholic in the mix..

My deffinition of Working to live would be...

Is simply Working to survive.. TO support you and your family.. or just you.. Getting by day to day.. Working at a job you may or may not care about it's simply for the money so you can get by day to day for your daily expenses. This may also mean you are juggling a couple jobs here and there to get the money you and your family need to live happy..

I think the two go hand in hand.  I have always heard them said together.  You work to live.  Self explanatory lol.  If you do not work you have no money and with no money it is kind of hard to live unless you get a check from the government or a family member keeps you up then basically you have to work --- to live.   And then live to work....I think if you have to work all the time to make ends meet it is like you are only living to work.

Personally, I am only working until Ed McMahan comes to visit me. lol

Ya know, I said that to a guy at work this weekend.  He is probably around 20.  And he had no idea who that was.
