What do you do when the power goes out at night?

It depends on how late it is so I either sleep or use my electronics until the batteries run down.

I usually light candles and pick up a book to read, or I try to sleep, if it's in the evening. Sometimes I'll listen to music or play games on my phone. It can be fairly uncomfortable in the dead of summer without air conditioning, so depending on the time of day, I might also just go outside, or go somewhere else for air conditioning.

Not directing this at you but your comment made me remember something that happened a couple of years ago and reminded me what a nation of wusses this country has become.  It's been about 6 years ago but there was a really bad storm and power was knocked out all over the county.  Some places had it but most did not.  Within 30 minutes of no power people were calling 911 and wanting to know where any places were that were opened up for the public to go.  I was thinking just stay at home.  It was almost midnight and it was not that hot.  There are people who live with no AC all summer long.  Geez.  They finally got a church to open up for a couple of hours.  Then of course they want you to feed them. lol.  Smh.  People truly amaze me.

Depends on the time. But usually I just go to sleep, at least I try to. I have Christmas lights up the whole year and I like to sleep with those on. I don't like it too dark in my room.

Depends on what time.  If i can go to sleep i will, if it's too early put candles on, use my tablet, or play a game by candle light.

I admit I AM a wooz (sp?).  I like as many modern conveniences as I can get, and that includes electricity, heat, and air conditioning.  I am living at the right time, no going back 100 years or more.  No, thank-you!  LOVE MY POWER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Depends. If I am already asleep the only time it might faze me is if it is very cold or hot out and I become aware that the heater or fan have gone off.(during the summer I get hot very easily while my husband doesn't so I have a fan at my bed side) If I am still awake then I will light candles and continue reading which is probably what I was doing when it went out.

I am on oxygen at night so when my power goes out I panic a little. I have to use the old school tanks then and can't sleep till the power is restored.
