Crowd Flower confuses me.

Being new here I have been trying all the different areas to earn money. 
I have seen Crowd Flower before on other sites and have never been able to complete the simple tasks.  I am not quite sure what I am doing wrong.  I am an intelligent person and I know how to follow directions.  The instructions usually ask us to open a browser and type something in and then do a Task from that point.  No matter what I do I seem to either run out of time or get some step wrong. 

Am I the only one having this problem?  Am I over thinking something?   
Can anyone who does this regularly offer any help.
I would love to earn those extra amounts but simply cannot do it.

Also.... do you have to complete certain levels at Crowd Flower for some tasks to show up?
I saw posts today talking about tasks that I cannot even find.

There are 3 levels so yes there will be some tasks unavailable until you level up

It depends on the specific task what you could be doing wrong. I find that most tasks actually give you much more time than actually needed to complete. Some are just glitchy and you can find no right answers. Some are just really simple and people over think it.

The tasks can take some getting used to when you're new.  You may have to work up to some levels, but you should have some available to you.  Ones that people talk about in the forums sometimes go quickly and may b gone when you go to look for them.

Others have great success with the tasks and I'm sure they'll come give their advice.

I have always ad a problem with the need for crowd flower to monitor our activity. I still do not know the purpose of that app.

Please take some comfort in knowing that you are not alone. The Crowdflower tasks and program was a little confusing to me at first. I read some of the suggestions on this forum to help me get used to it. Look for tasks that have at least three stars; they are easier to accomplish. If you find one that comes easy to you, look for others in the same category because the more you do them the easier they get. Once you start getting more done, you will achieve the other levels for more opportunities. Good luck and don't give up.

crowdflower confuses the heck out of me, so I tend to avoid them. But will give it another shot, thanks to the comments in this forum.

I love the old crowd flower setting. We are definitely in the same boat. It used to be so easy to just click away and work on them but now you have to download something in order for it to work. Especially the ones that are 5 cents or more. I guess we can just do the ones we can do easily understand. Maybe my laptop is getting old.

Thank you for your clear, helpful advice.  I've actually shied away from tasks because of the inconsistencies with various members.  When I read posts like yours, it gives me renewed faith that the learning curve is just that; a leaning curve.  One that can be overcome in time.  I will be giving you a big thanks for your post.

To raise your CF level, it helps to do tasks labeled as "Crowdflower official job". I'm not sure if the others count as much or at all toward your overall score.

I suggest signing up for a CF account too (you can do it from the FC tasks page) then you can monitor you progress and overall accuracy

I have had so much trouble with it and it takes so much time for me that I have mostly given up on it.  I know I'm not stupid but I have a terrible time with it.
