Not necessarily the same way.  People around you can be happy but you be dealing with a tragedy and you can still be sad.  If someone around you is in a bad mood and being hateful then that can put you in a bad mood.

Absolutely.  Negativity breeds negativity.  A positive attitude is contagious.   I'm an optimist so try to be the one who influences the moods of others.

Absolutely, negative people can bring me down and positive people can bring me up. I think a lot of people are affected by the moods of people that around them. Their state of mind impacts our own.

No, if people around me are negative I try and get from around them, but my mood is not affected by who I am around.

I think that is very true...today I was in a good mood when I went to work, but the people I work with were all in crappy moods, as the day wore on, I could fell my good mood evaporate, and was soon feeling crappy like the rest of the office. hated to have my good mood spoiled...

   Yes! For sure. Hang around positive people. It is contagious! Avoid negative people.

Oh my yes it does affect a person! Negativity just leads to more negativity, sadness leads to more sadness, now you put me with some happy go lucky folks and then it is contagious!

Yes I wish it wasn't that way but it is to a point anyway - my two grown sons live with me and sometimes they can get in a bad mood or bicker and it brings me down quickly otherwise I am a positive, easy going person but I can be quickly be affected by negativity.

Yes I do feel that happening from time to time when a buddy gets crazy or bummed.
