proper and impromtu introductions

One of my neighbors is in the hospital now.
Months ago, she had said that her daughter and husband would be down for a visit. She wanted to introduce us.
It turned out that I met her daughter on my own, since "mom" is in the hospital.
I was looking for a  spot to sit and have dinner in our dining room. I found the empty seat and my neighbor's daughter and husband. We met with our own introductions.
