First I would investigate the school situation. Could there be something there she is afraid of?  Visit with her teacher. She must know that she's going to school no matter what.  Would it be appropriate to offer a small reward if she behaves and doesn't throw a fit.  Every child reacts differently.

That's tough since all kids are so different. I hope she is not facing a bully at school, or other children that will not include her. Will she talk about it? What does she like about school and what does she not like? Is the teacher aware of the problem? Have you ever stayed a while at school to see how she interacts with others?

One of my children did that for years. He said he hated school. We were fortunate enough that one of the policemen in our town came over and talked to him about it and then he was fine. I still can't believe it, but it worked.

It's probably just a case of trying different things to see what works. She may grow out of it in time. I suspect she might be having some separation anxiety. Just a thought. Let her know what fun thing (peanut butter and jelly, a board game, television show) will happen after she gets out of school that afternoon so that she can have something to look forward to.

My brother-in-law said the same thing until he had kids and tried the timeout, needless to say he does not do timeouts anymore. Some kids it works for a d others just need a little swat.

I agree with the no hitting/yelling etc whatever you choose make sure its POSITIVE reinforcement. People should really look into psychology for kids. It can help a lot in the long run. & good luck. I don't know the situation and my son is only two but I really hope she learns to love school. I always did.
