Open bank account online

I have online accounts and use them frequently. I don't trust them any more than anything else on the internet. You're always vulnerable, but you can't live your life in a protective shell. Wish you could. I'd go there sometimes! You know, like somewhere over the rainbow.

This is a subject that is near and dear to my heart because part of my hobby involves collecting bank accounts! I have opened dozens of on line bank accounts as well as dozens of accounts at brick and mortar institutions. I generally open an account whenever a cash incentive is offered. For example I scheduled one Saturday to open a Chase checking account that was paying two hundred dollars, a bank of the west account that was paying one hundred and fifty dollars, a TCF account that paid one hundred and fifty dollars, a key bank account that paid one hundred and twenty five dollars, a capital one account (online) that paid one hundred dollars, and a State bank account (on line) that paid one hundred dollars.  Eight hundred and twenty five dollars for a morning's work-not a bad take. I have been burned by two banks: PNC and Compass bank did not pay what they had offered but I got my principal back.

I open once pass year.  Since the bank close down now.  I go to the bank now.  Not all bank offer service online.

No, Not confident about opening account online but I do online banking.

I don't have an online bank account but I have various accounts scattered with different establishments. Last year I had two occasions where my account numbers was used fraudulently and money was taken out of my account. Suffice to say it is not only on line accounts that you need to worry about, you need to be vigilant about any account that you have online or in branch. I am vigilant and caught these payments early, both banks refunded my money immediately.

No I have several bank accounts and I've gone to the bank to open them. But I do have online banking and mobile banking with them.

No, I have not but I've heard that the interest rates may be better, I do online banking but I opened it up in person. Online banks seem popular,good luck.

No, It could be risky depending on your computer,I would rather just drive down a few blocks and talk to someone in my bank to open an account.

Yes, I do, been doing it for years now. To me the convenience can't be beat. Nowadays, I can even deposit a check from my phone. Oh wow, what a time saver!

I opened up a Chase account and a Ameritrade account online.

I would think twice about using any of those virtual banks if that's what you're thinking about. I would like there to be a physical place to go to in case I had any problems with my account. Ameritrade is a recognized establishment so I felt ok doing that online, but typically I would not have.
