Gas or Electric Stove
« on: July 31, 2015, 08:29:46 am »
What do you have?  We have total electric, there are no gas lines to any of the houses around us.  I would love to have a gas stove but will not pay the crazy price to have a line put in.  :(

I have an electric stove and prefer it to gas ... when you have cats you can't always predict when they will decide to jump up on the counter or stove ... even if they are taught not too

We have a gas stove and I prefer gas to electric for cooking.  I've cooked on electric before and its hard to adjust.  I'm sure I could get used to it but don't really want to. lol  We have gas heat also.

Years ago, I got very sick from a gas leak in my apartment. I have refused to have gas since that time.

I prefer gas. It cooks faster and seems to taste better.

Unfortunately I have a gas stove that I can't use unless I switch it to propane. Everyone around here has electric and it's sad because TN is not deregulated, so the electric company charges way too much! Right now we're living in the trailer with a gas stove, but when we move into the house I might have to buy an electric stove.

I have an electric stove it is so much cleaner then a gas stove but it does have its draw backs as it is harder to get adjusted and slower to cool down. My ideal kitchen would be too have an area for an electric stove plus and another area for a gas range. I cannot use a big pressure canner on my electric stove as it has a glass top. It is too heavy.  Of course then I would like to have a 3 compartment along with a hand washing sink.  But since I can't have the kitchen of my dreams I will settle with what I have.  At my age probably do not need to do so much canning anyway You just can't take the country out of a country girl.

I have a gas stove, but I'd prefer an electric one. It would eliminate an entire bill (gas bill) and I hear they do a better job of hearing quickly.

We have electric stove but would prefer a gas stove because I think it cooks faster.

I've used an electric stove for many years and prefer it to gas.  The gas flame makes me nervous.  I have a glass flat-top stove which is so easy to keep clean, unlike the electric coils of years ago.
