I hope so to, but I know if it does happen it will be awhile before we really see a difference. But there has always been homeless & poor people. I do not think that will change very much at all.

I hope things start to improve also.  The coal industry is getting a little better, and with the cluncker program they have started the auto industry is doing somewhat better.  I am however concerned with the amount of money that the administration is spending and if they get this cap and trade bill past we are going to see nothing but our power bills go up just giving more money to the government.  I guess that is one way they are trying to offset their over spending.  Either way we are going to be the ones to pay for their mistakes.

Absolutely not.  And if the economy does come back, it won't be any thanks to our moron president.

Obama and Congress are making it worse.  I think there is a secret agenda going on, especially since they want to introduce a new currency in place of the US Dollar.

Well lets look at it this way.....unemployment hasn't really improved much, It also hasn't really gotten any worse either...nobody can make a decision on the health care issues (which they really need to fix) and ummmm I haven't really seen any improvements on what they have spent a portion of the money on (ie: housing and ect).  Even the cash for clunkers isn't working how it's supposed to.  I mean, I know he is one man but he really needs to stop and look at the big picture b/4 making any more decisions that will affect us little people.   :BangHead:

NO, NO, NO AND NO. Unemployment keeps going up and places are not hiring. They say weekly claims are going down. Well, yeah, because peoples unemployment benefits are gone. If you can find a job it is something that will just keep you until the holiday season is over and then you are in the same boat again.

Obama  isn't responsible for the economy being in this mess, it was left from the Bush administration and they did absolutely nothing to help anyone.

I keep reading that the recession is over, but I don't see it because people are still being laid off their jobs.  So hopefully very soon things will get better.

I have nothing against Obama, but I think it is ludicrous that he won the Noble Peace Prize - he hasn't done anything yet.  That's like giving a dog a treat before he's done the trick and I don't get that.
I hope that we get the healthcare reform that has been successfully established in many other countries but I saw an article yesterday that only like 2% of Americans support it?  I don't see it happening, I didn't at first, then had a glimmer of hope as it progressed and now I'm back down to -it's never gonna happen :/
As far as homeless people - we have shelters and support around here for our homeless people and while there are places for them to go, it is my understanding that those that are mentally disturbed choose not to take their medicines and/or cohabitate around other people - therefore avoiding shelter assistance.
How is it in other areas?

Many of the indicators of the economy are showing improvement.  Unemployment isn't a good indicator of the current economic standing -- unemployment is a lagging indicator, meaning its indications only show up 6-12 months after the fact.  It lags for pretty obvious reasons if you think about it.  Firms are cautious to rehire lots of people when the economy is just recovering from downturn/recession.  They rehire slowly or even wait a while after improvement is being claimed.  Firms also require consumer demand to be increasing before they hire anybody; you don't need more workers if the demand for your product is stagnant, but once it picks up you'll need more labor.
