It was Obama's last one...did anyone watch? If so, what were your thoughts on it?

I did not care to watch it.  These days the State of the Union address (and the opposing party's rebuttal followup afterwards) are nothing more than liberal or conservation propaganda and platforming.  ::)  I generally consider watching SotU to just be a waste of my time. :bad: :bad: :bad:

I tried to watch but I kept yelling at the television screen for him to stop lying, so I had to turn it off after about half an hour. I couldn't stand how much time Congress and guests there spent applauding and standing for a 'standing ovation' to every sentence, no matter how patently untrue, that came out of the POTUS's mouth. No wonder it takes so long to listen to a speech of his. Mind boggling.

Then there was the fawning over him as he entered and left. He kissed a lot of women and shook a lot of hands, and they were all groveling to get his attention. I'd like to know what the appeal is, frankly.  :confused1:

Did you notice the faces of the military men who were there? Very telling.  >:(

I like what one of the Republican candidates said. It was more a 'state of denial address' rather than a state of the union address.  :(

Don't hate me if you don't agree with me, please. Just disagree politely. Thank you very much.

I always watch the military with these speeches.

I don't listen to it or the rebuttal any more....a giant puppet show, whatever side you are on.

The state of the union is indeed a sad one these days.

I watched the state of the Union, and Obama was in a total denial stage, I wanted to throw something at him .  When he started in on the military and the men just sit there looking at him like what in the heck are you talking about. It was mostly lies. But I did like the rebuttal. So I am with you on this Linderlizzie.

I watched some of it and honestly I wasn't impressed. All I saw was just a lot of lies which is nothing new with our government.

I didn't watch it, but I've read the transcript.
I don't watch because I find myself yelling at the TV, when some little nit like Paul Ryan sits and pouts like a child.

The only thing I disagree with him on is the use of drones to assassinate a US citizen abroad. Even if he was a terrorist, citizens are entitled to a trial.

I don't watch televisions anymore. The only thing I watched nowadays is Netflix. I don't get to hear about what is going on in America or the rest of the world. But thanks to those who posted before me. Sounded like it wasn't a very good address. Hope for the Country to just a Leader who has honesty and integrity.
