For some I do, others I pay online or via debit card. Checks last me a long time since I use so few of them; not like years ago before the internet when we used checks on a weekly bases, now I do not even walk with my checkbook just leave home.

I so need to do that... pay bills. I hate that they all come in at different times. I would rather sit down once and have a stack to deal with than have to keep up with one or two at a time 15 times over the month, lol.

So sit down once a month and pay all your bills. I would do it in the first few days of the new month so you don't get behind. Some bills will be paid well in advance while others are on time. Or at the end of the month for the next months billd. I would sugest keeping track of how much the bill is monthly over a course of a few months and then pay the average. That's what my husband and I have been doing. We pay everything off at the end of the month for the following month. So we are never behind and we have credit stored from months where we've spent less than what we've already paid. We have had to learn the hard way that when disaster strikes.. it's good that you have a good month or two to not worry about the bills.

It's been quite awhile since I wrote a check. I did use them in the past though to pay rent. I still have a full box of checks that I got years ago. It may last me forever at this point.

I haven't written out a check in years! I use my debit card either at the point-of-sale machine or I'll use it for online payments or even automatic account withdrawal for some monthly bills. I don't even have a check book or any checks. I guess I should probably have some just in case I run into a situation where I would need one, but ordering checks can be expensive and I hate to spend all that money for something I won't even be using that often. I think eventually checks will be thing of the past, seeing as how many companies are switching to "eco" friendly solutions and paperless statements and all that.

I write out a check to my hairdresser, so one check every 6 weeks or so.  If I take cash out ahead of time I  do not have to write a check even then.
