Using the "Offer" forum
« on: June 12, 2016, 02:26:26 pm »
Hi everyone --- I have just read (yet another) post that I thought was a tip on a new offer,  yet it was off topic.  Yes, I realize this post goes in the off topic, or FC forum, but I am putting it here so that perhaps those who just post on the first board they see will read and take heed.

Please, please, PLEASE --- do not post on the "offers" forum if you are making a comment about something other than an OFFER on FC.

Thank you.

I started writing on this forum only recently... and I am actually noticing that a lot of times people here don't really read the content of a topic but just focus on its title (if even that)....

Most of us are too concentrated (and that's only my opinion) on writing "whatever" just to be paid for their post, than actually trying to make sense...

(someone's going to hate me for saying this).... therefore I am soo not surprised to read you saying people post on the wrong board :)

I usually try to stick to responding to the OP's content, but from time to time it will make me think of an 'almost related' aside that gets added in there...

But yes, I think original/initial thread posts should be 'on topic' for the section it's posted in. I've wasted time clicking though off topic posts a number of times.

Probably they forget that they are in the "offer" forum, when the write the post.  I don't guess there is any way for them to move it if they realize besides deleting and starting over.  I do not respond to those in the wrong place in hopes the will drop off the 1st page so can find important and useful posts.

it might be laziness, but I think most of the time its just done so they qualify for the $3....it does make it more cluttered, but not much we can do about it except remind people

Yes, I agree.  I know how annoying it is when my kitchen gets disorganized - utensils in the wrong drawer, cups in the wrong cabinet and so on. ( I hope my hubby doesn't read this )  :silly:

Disorganization in the forum can be a bit annoying as well.  If we all take a little time and try to put things where they belong, ( just like in my kitchen LOL ) it will make life easier.

I usually do not respond to a topic if it is on the Offer Board but belongs on the Off Topic Board. I make an exception if the person is new so as to inform them about the Off Topic Board and once in a while, if the subject really interest me, I will respond but also remind the member that the discussion belongs on another board.

I normally don't even pay attention to the topic but just looking for threads I haven't read yet.

I do see that and wonder why they don't look first, but maybe some people don't pay attention. Maybe they're just in a hurry!

I don't think people really pay attention to what board they're posting on most of the time. I've seen plenty of things that should be in off topic on just about every other board. I've also seen things that end up in off topic that don't get the right responses because it should be in support or fusioncash

I have found this observation to be very true.  Many times people don't bother to read any of the replies in the message thread, but only the thread title and (sometimes) the very first post.  Several months ago, I started a new thread with one idea in the subject line and a completely different question/request in the body of my post, just to see how many people responded to the post's subject topic rather than the fully written out question/comment.  That experiment didn't go exactly as I envisioned it, but it still did prove a point to some degree.

I know that a lot of people are just looking to reach that magic number of 30 posts in a month and don't take the time to read the comments.  But they are the ones missing out on other great ideas, advice, and conversation.

I also think a lot of people use the "Fusion Cash" "Offers" "Suggestions" and "Support" boards interchangeably.  There does tend to be some significant cross over in those categories and they could almost be considered sub-categories in some situations.  Even though they are distinct, it can be an honest mistake to make suggestions in the support board or to look to the Fusion Cash board for help in resolving a particular problem...

Yes, sometimes people post on the wrong board, and I really think it has to do with NOT paying attention to where they are posting it is upsetting.  If you could try to at least pay a tiny bit of attention to what you are doing before postigng could be great, but for  me at least is not a big deal

I have to agree... perhaps if there were just a couple of topics (i.e. FC, Contests and Off Topic),  it would be easier to find the right board on which to post?  (Hmmmm, as I write this I realize it probably belongs under Suggestions...) :)
