I quit pretty much in my 40's when the music stated being hip hop and the younger crowds were starting to come out, they were not sedate as us older ones. Besides i only like country, gospel and early rock.  Once in a while i would let my son or niece talk me into going, But just was not the same. So i started going to another club that did not serve drinks, and played all of the music i like. But once 9 o'clock rolled around i was ready to go home and get rest for work.

I stopped going to clubs etc when I was in my twenties, I felt too old to be drinking too much, feeling ill the next day, tired, and strangely I hated to see other people drunk making stupid decisions and acting in a way which was unbecoming. Then in my thirties I had children and became totally devoted to the needs of my two boys! That was about 12 years ago now and I can honestly say, having children is the most rewarding, and fulfilling job in the world. No longer do I see the need to socialize in bars, I get all the conversation and experiences I could want at home.

I never had anything constant that I did on the weekends. For the past month, on every Saturday, I've gone walking on the nature trail with my mom. Or going to the park next to it. I don't when exactly a person should stop going out if they should stop going out at all. Really depends on the person.
