STORE PICKUP
« on: October 03, 2016, 10:13:20 am »
if you order something online, why would you want or need to go to the store to pick it up?
if you could go to the store, you would just buy it there, wouldn't you?

Netflix Gift cards have code numbers and that was  of my purchase.
I can see the reasoning  because of the sensitivity of the code and the likelihood of someone stealing the code in the postal mail. I think last year, they sent me the codes by email. That was a long time ago.

I feel the same and have never used store pickup. Saying that I found a phone system (landline) on the Walmart web site for $49 and went to the store it was $149.98. After mentioning the price difference online the clerk said that's if you order it online. I told her that I almost did order to pick up in store the web site said it was available at the store for immediate pickup at this price. She said that even had I ordered it they would not honor it on what they have in stock but will accept the delivery to the store and be notified when it's available for pick up. She made it awfully confusing. I bought the phone because it was the only one in stock and she assured me that it was discontinued and that would be the last one. A week later the same phone in stock and has been stocked and restocked ever since. So I don't know that I can trust site to store, especially through Walmart.

There are always more things online than there are in store. Online usually also has more sales and coupon codes so you get the benefit of getting what you want at a better price and don't have to payor wait  for shipping

Exactly what Ladavia said!  I found a printer online at Walmart that was in stock at the store and used several coupons I found online to get a very good price.  Also, Walmart is very close to home and I needed the printer in a hurry.  Ordered in the a.m.; picked up 2 hrs later.  In this case, this was actually more convenient for me then the printer being shipped to my home

I have purchased several items from Walmart and picked them up at the store, because they were not available at the store at that time. Before they built the store near my house, I did it even more often so I wouldn't end up driving half an hour each way to the store and fine it not available.

If I order online, then I just have delivered, I never  go to store to pick up. I generally get good deals online and sometimes free shipping, so that works out better for me.

Most of the time the item is not in the store, that is why I shop online and sometimes it is cheaper.

Sometimes I go to Walmart and I don't see some products on the shelves... sometimes if you buy from Walmart online it is cheaper... and than you can wait a week to have it sent home, or go the same day to pick it up... that is more convenient. It just depends on your needs

If it's free shipping, I just have it shipped to the house and it also depends on what I'm ordering.

I had a store pickup once.  At that time it was best for me.

Depends on what I am ordering, if the order qualifies for free shipping or not, and cashback offered....mostly, if I order online, I have the order shipped to me.  But it has been more advantageous to order online and have my daughter pick it up at the store since she works in the same city where the store is.
